After the merger, the Education sector of Ca Mau province still lacks nearly 1,980 positions.

GD&TĐ - On August 4, information from the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province, after the merger, the number of positions that need to be recruited for the entire sector is still quite high, nearly 1,980 positions.

Specifically, the number of positions that educational institutions under the Department of Education and Training need to recruit is 302 positions, the number of positions that educational institutions at the commune level need to recruit is 1,676 positions (positions assigned at the beginning of 2025). Of which, preschool level needs to recruit 461 positions, primary level needs to recruit 787 positions, secondary level needs to recruit 428 positions.

According to the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau , the current decentralization in teacher recruitment has overlaps. Decree No. 142 dated June 12, 2025 of the Government assigns recruitment authority to the Department of Education and Training, however, the Law on Organization of Local Government dated June 16, 2025 assigns authority to the Chairman of the People's Committee at the commune level.

In addition, the Government issued a Decree replacing or adjusting and supplementing Decree No. 115 dated September 25, 2020 of the Government on recruitment, use and management of civil servants, amended and supplemented by Decree No. 85 dated December 7, 2023 of the Government, thereby facing difficulties in developing a plan to recruit civil servants for the education sector according to regulations.

Secondary school in Ca Mau province needs to recruit 428 staff.

In the coming time, the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau will preside over and coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs to advise the Provincial People's Committee on the policy of organizing the recruitment of all assigned positions in early 2025, ensuring compliance with legal regulations, in order to supplement the source of teachers for the 2025-2026 school year.

According to statistics, after the merger, the total number of managers and teachers in the whole Ca Mau province is 24,266 people, including: 4,026 people in preschool, 9,755 people in primary school, 6,139 people in secondary school, 3,655 people in high school, 144 people in vocational education and continuing education, 336 people in colleges (6 schools) and 211 people in Bac Lieu University.
