ASEAN Committee in Kuwait celebrates 58th anniversary of the Association's founding

The ASEAN Committee in Kuwait held a meeting and celebrated the 58th anniversary of the Association's founding.

At the ceremony, member countries reviewed the fundamental values and outstanding achievements that ASEAN has achieved in nearly 6 decades of formation and development. Overcoming many challenges within and outside the region, ASEAN has now become a common home of nearly 680 million people, becoming the 5th largest economic region in the world with a stable GDP growth rate.

Building on the achievements, ASEAN is continuing to transform itself by adopting the “ASEAN Community Vision 2045”, aiming for a higher goal of building a resilient, dynamic, innovative and people-centered community.

The Ambassadors and Chargé d’Affaires also discussed and exchanged the results of recent ASEAN Summits in May, including the ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit. The results achieved from the above-mentioned conferences are evidence of the development of cooperation between ASEAN and the GCC group of countries in general and Kuwait in particular; the two sides still have much potential to promote relations and strengthen cooperation in many areas of common interest.

Representatives of ASEAN countries agreed to join hands to organize more regular and effective activities in the coming time.

For Kuwait, through the activities that have been implemented since the beginning of the ACK term, ASEAN countries have highly appreciated Vietnam's role as chair in its efforts to demonstrate the diversity, effectiveness and influence of ASEAN activities in the host country. Contacts, exchanges and cooperation with local agencies as well as initiatives and events promoting the image, culture and tourism continue to affirm the positive image of the ASEAN Committee, which has been recognized by friends from other countries, the media and Kuwaiti politicians.

Vietnam is the current chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Kuwait.

In that spirit, representatives of ASEAN countries agreed to join hands to organize more regular and effective activities in the coming time, in order to continue promoting the spirit of solidarity, promoting the image of a strong ASEAN Community and continuously strengthening cooperation in all aspects with Kuwait and partners in the Gulf region.
