Present at the transaction session in Trieu Do commune, Trieu Phong district, we noticed that the work of comparing and updating data on interest and principal of loans from households was performed quickly and accurately by the staff of the Social Policy Bank.
Ms. Tran Thi Minh Tuyen, Head of the Savings and Loan Group (TK&VV) of Trieu Do commune, said that since installing the Policy Credit Management application, it has been very convenient to record data on interest and savings collected from people right on the application. The data is immediately synchronized with the system of the Social Policy Bank, helping to shorten the collection time, the transaction process is quick, convenient and almost error-free.
“With the installation of the Policy Credit Management and VBSP SmartBanking applications, I find it convenient for both borrowers and banks. Instead of having to sit and calculate and go to each borrower to urge them to collect interest and principal repayments, now with this application on mobile devices, we can grasp detailed information, proactively pay interest and principal monthly or deposit savings, pay tuition, electricity bills...”, Ms. Tuyen said.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quang, Head of Information Technology Department, Provincial People's Credit Bank, the Policy Credit Management application on mobile phones is software of Vietnam People's Credit Bank, applied nationwide in 2024. However, Quang Tri province was chosen to pilot implementation in 2021.
Accordingly, the branch has selected 3 transaction offices to implement the pilot program, namely Cam Lo, Dakrong and Gio Linh, and will deploy it across all branches by 2022. This is a software that operates on smart devices, providing customers with information on credit policy activities, credit programs, lending processes, loan reconciliation results and guidance documents.
In addition, the application is also considered an "electronic handbook", providing detailed information on loan programs, interest rates, interest collection, savings collection, principal transfer and credit policy activity data of the Savings and Credit Group; transaction results; look up interest receipts of group members and location information...
Help users have quick and accurate data information, contributing to improving the quality of credit activities, lending trust activities and activities of savings and credit groups. In addition, transactions between the head of the savings and credit group and the People's Credit Fund are convenient, fast and effective.
For synchronous, timely and effective implementation, the transaction offices of the Social Policy Bank in the area have coordinated with political and social organizations and local authorities to train, install and guide the use of software for members, chairmen of People's Committees of communes and towns, members of district-level representative boards, entrusted political and social organizations, heads of savings and loan groups; install and use the policy credit management application through software on mobile phones. To date, 100% of groups have conducted transactions on the application.
According to Ms. Ho Thi Thiec, President of the Women's Union of Lia Commune, Huong Hoa District, instead of having to check interest payments and savings of members on many types of documents, now she only needs to check on her smartphone, all necessary information is displayed quickly and completely.
“Usually after each transaction session, team leaders, representatives of associations, unions, transaction officers, and supervisors must all sit down and compare books to ensure that all transactions are accurate and in accordance with regulations. Since using the policy credit application software, it has helped manage and monitor capital sources better, saving on reconciliation effort, travel expenses, and paperwork, etc.; transaction time has reduced by 50% of the workload compared to before,” said Ms. Thiec.
Also in 2024, the Quang Tri branch of the People's Credit Fund collected and verified information to pilot the solution of applying chip-based citizen identification cards and biometric data for nearly 3,400 customers at the unit.
In order to promptly deploy safe and secure solutions in payment via the Mobile Banking system, the branch has collected and compared biometric information for about 95% of customers who registered and activated the Mobile Banking service at the provincial branch of the Social Policy Bank. In addition, many other application software have also been effectively deployed throughout the banking system such as: Human resource management, emulation and reward management, training management, document management...
The branch also launched a movement to research and apply information technology in activities throughout the industry. One of the solutions that was highly appreciated when applied in practice was the initiative to "Digitize social housing loan records at the Social Policy Bank, Quang Tri branch". This initiative has been put into practice and brought about practical results at the unit.
According to Mr. Vo Duc Toan, a credit officer of the Social Policy Bank in Dong Ha City, in the past, when preparing social housing loan applications, credit officers had to manually enter each form, which took a lot of time and made it difficult to detect errors due to the large number of borrower information fields on the application, affecting work.
“Since implementing the initiative at the branch, this tool has greatly supported the transaction offices in the process of creating and controlling records, especially for credit officers - who directly create records, to easily use and review the loan record information fields. The process of controlling records of specialized departments at the unit has also become easier and faster, helping to shorten the time for customers to borrow capital,” said Mr. Toan.
In order to effectively apply digital technology in policy credit management, in the coming time, the provincial branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies will continue to promote people to open and use accounts and make cashless payments. Strengthen coordination in exploiting and applying population data, citizen identification and electronic authentication to serve the activities of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies in conjunction with the actual situation in the locality.
At the same time, the branch launched a movement to regularly study and improve skills in applying information technology, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence AI among all staff and employees.
