However, it is worth mentioning that most cases of breast cancer are detected at a late stage - when treatment has become complicated, expensive and greatly affects the quality of life. Meanwhile, if detected early, the cure rate can be up to 90%.
Understanding the importance of early detection, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital organized a free community health consultation program on breast cancer screening, taking place on the morning of July 18 at the hospital. The program aims to provide accurate scientific information, while helping people - especially women aged 40 and over - understand breast cancer correctly and proactively screen early to protect their own health.
In particular, the program is also an opportunity for the community to access the most advanced 3D mammography technology today. The system has just been equipped by the hospital with modern digital tomography technology, creating sharp multi-layered images, helping doctors accurately detect even very small lesions - even in cases of dense breast tissue, which is a big challenge with traditional methods. In addition, the accompanying modern biopsy system also allows for high-precision access and intervention of lesions.
