Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong speaks at the Program

Over the past three decades, Vietnam and Korea have made remarkable strides in economic , trade and cultural cooperation, in which tourism has always played a pioneering, connecting and spreading role.

In 2024, Vietnam welcomed and served more than 4.5 million Korean visitors, up 27.1% compared to 2023 and exceeding the 2019 level before the pandemic. However, in the first 6 months of 2025, the number of visitors showed signs of slowing down, down slightly by 3.2%. This is the time when promotional programs like today need to maximize their effectiveness to recreate strong growth momentum, the Deputy Minister emphasized.

This program not only has beautiful images of Vietnam's land and people, but also new tourism products, suitable for the tastes of Korean tourists: from high-class beach resorts, golf tourism, cultural - culinary - medical tourism, to experiences in the highlands, villages and indigenous communities. In addition, the e-visa policy with flexible stay periods and increasingly improved aviation infrastructure helps shorten the distance between the two countries. Vietnam currently has 10 direct flights connecting major cities in Korea (Seoul, Busan, Daegu) with Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, etc.

“We hope that through today’s program, travel agencies, hotels, and airlines of the two countries will have more opportunities to exchange and establish practical and sustainable cooperative relationships. Vietnam always welcomes international friends, especially Korean tourists, with a friendly, open, and professional spirit. The bond between the two nations does not stop at statistics, but is also demonstrated through emotional travel stories, through trips that connect souls, cultures, and hearts,” said Deputy Minister Ho An Phong.
