Here, the cultural beauty of Thang Long - Hanoi is vividly portrayed, not only in its historical depth but also through the interplay between tradition and modernity, creating the proud "bright features" of Hanoi.

Marking the records
The space “Tradition and Creativity Hanoi 2025” at the exhibition made a strong impression with the display of many record-breaking products, demonstrating the sophistication, dedication and aspiration to affirm the cultural identity of the Capital through the talented hands of craftsmen.
Notably, the wood carving “Vinh quy bai to” by artisans Bui Trong Lang and Bui Trong Quan (Kieu Phu commune) was recognized by the Vietnam Record Organization as a double record: the largest monolithic wood carving in Vietnam and the hand-carved wood carving with the largest number of characters. With a length of 8.33m, a height of 1.7m, and a thickness of 16cm, the work recreates the journey back to the village after passing the imperial examination of a new graduate in the feudal period, through 348 characters, 68 ancient trees, hundreds of details of hammocks, flags, and fans... To complete the work, the authors spent nearly 27 months with the participation of dozens of skilled workers.
As an artisan with over 30 years of experience in wood carving, artisan Do Duc Nghia (Thiet Ung craft village, Thu Lam commune) commented: "As someone who also works in traditional wood carving, I appreciate the dedication of the craftsmen and artisans who created this masterpiece. They have boldly innovated their thinking in creating the work, making everyone remember the brand of the craft village."
Another record-breaking work also displayed in the space is the pair of “Eternal Happiness” rings by the Bao Tin Manh Hai brand. With a diameter of up to 1.5m, 10cm thick, a prominent heart design and sophisticated solid gold lines, the pair of rings is not only a piece of jewelry but also a cultural story about love, attachment and tradition in modern life.
Talking to reporters of Hanoi Moi Newspaper, Ms. Pham Kieu Chinh, a communications staff of Bao Tin Manh Hai brand, shared: “The pair of rings “Eternal Happiness” is displayed with many other unique products of Bao Tin Manh Hai in a space imbued with Hanoi culture. Here, viewers can enjoy West Lake lotus tea, experience wearing ancient costumes and learn and practice some stages of the jewelry making profession.”
Spreading cultural heritage values in modern flow
Not only stopping at records, the space of “Tradition and Creativity Hanoi 2025” also has unique products that are inspired by the endless creativity of talented and dedicated craftsmen. For example, the collection “Lotus on driftwood” by Meritorious Artisan Do Van Cuong, Chairman of the Thiet Ung Fine Arts Wood Carving Village Association (Thu Lam Commune). Artisan Do Van Cuong said: “For driftwood to become a soulful work, bringing high artistic and economic value, it sometimes takes 4-5 months to complete, along with the requirements of the craftsman’s skills, artistic eye and design thinking. This is the intersection between “profession” and “art”, between heritage and innovation”.
A special “reddish Hanoi” introduced at the Hanoi cultural space is the lotus silk making craft, with the mark of artisan Phan Thi Thuan, from My Duc Silk Company Limited. Lotus silk fabrics, silk paintings made from lotus silk, along with stories about the products, truly make the audience admire the creativity and talent of the artisans of the craft village. Ms. Do Thi Dung, 72 years old, has been involved in the silkworm breeding and silk reeling profession since she was 19 years old, and has collaborated with artisan Phan Thi Thuan for many years in the journey of creating products from lotus silk, sharing: “Each silk thread is a lot of sweat and effort, but we are happy to be doing the job. Preserving the profession means preserving an extremely valuable heritage”.
Visiting the exhibition and experience space of Hanoi, Nguyen Van Tien, a third-year student of the University of Foreign Languages (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) excitedly said: "It is a great pride that Hanoi, Vietnam has such wonderful products to introduce to international friends on the integration journey".
The space “Tradition and Creativity Hanoi 2025” at the exhibition of Socio-Economic Achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) is not only an opportunity for artisans to demonstrate their skills, but also an opportunity for the younger generation to better understand the national culture. In the context of international integration, spaces like “Tradition and Creativity Hanoi 2025” are also a strong affirmation that cultural heritage is not a quiet past, but a solid foundation for creativity and development.
