(Fatherland) - On November 7, at Hanoi Museum, the discussion program "Tradition - Culture - The channel of contemporary creative space" took place.

On September 12, 2024, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Plan No. 266/KH-UBND on organizing activities for Hanoi to participate in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in 2024 - 2025. To implement this plan, on October 15, 2024, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports issued Document No. 734/KH-SVHTT on forming a network of creative spaces and implementing the organization of a center to coordinate creative activities. These positive moves show the city's transformation in building and developing cultural spaces to preserve and promote the cultural values of the capital.

The seminar was attended by experts, culturalists, managers and audiences with special interest in Hanoi culture and creative spaces.

With more than 30 years of experience in research and working in various fields, Dr. Nguyen Quang affirmed that Hanoi's goal is to build a cultured, civilized and modern city, in which, we cannot only mention the strong economic potential, but also the sustainable development of culture.

"Hanoi is a place where many cultural resources converge with a history of up to thousands of years. Very few capitals in the world have such rich and rich "layers" of history, nature, and people. These are the resources and potentials that Hanoi needs to exploit to develop more and more strongly" - Dr. Nguyen Quang emphasized.

At the seminar, the speakers discussed, analyzed and evaluated the fundamental changes in the cultural orientation of the Capital when Plan No. 266/KH-UBND of the Hanoi People's Committee was implemented. At the same time, they discussed traditional elements in creative spaces and the awareness of young people; the combination of traditional and modern elements in creative activities...

Speakers shared at the seminar.

Lecturer of the School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts (Hanoi National University), Master Pham Minh Quan, gave some assessments of young people in preserving traditional culture in creative spaces.

Master Pham Minh Quan said: "Currently, many opinions say that the young generation's awareness of traditional culture may be fading. But, in my opinion, young people today are a very talented generation, rich in creativity. If we awaken the young generation, they will create new contemporary breaths for traditional and historical elements. This will be a factor to affirm the existence of Vietnamese culture as well as the culture of the Capital."

Sharing the same view, Director of Hanoi Museum Nguyen Tien Da believes that the current generation or the future young generation will always be the ones to continue the cultural source and cultural traditions left by their ancestors and that culture will never be broken.

In addition, Mr. Nguyen Tien Da also affirmed: "Creative spaces at the museum also play a very important role in maintaining and promoting the cultural identity of the capital. Therefore, in order to increase the attractiveness to attract many visitors, especially young people, in recent times, Hanoi Museum has also had orientations and always renewed creative spaces at the Museum to meet the needs of the public".

With the sharing of the speakers throughout the discussion, the public was able to visualize how the young generation can connect with Hanoi's traditional culture through creative activities and how the activities in the museum's creative space can help spread the cultural values of the capital to other regions, and even internationally.
