From its predecessor, the Faculty of Economics of Danang University (1975), then developed into Danang University of Technology (1976), to date, the University of Economics is one of the leading training institutions in the country in the fields of economics, management and business.

The school currently has 12 faculties, 7 departments, 3 centers, 1 department and 1 scientific journal, with a training scale of more than 15,000 students, trainees and postgraduates.
With modern facilities, advanced training programs and dedicated teaching staff, the School has trained tens of thousands of bachelors, masters and doctors, providing high-quality human resources for the Central Highlands and the whole country, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, Director of Danang University congratulated the University of Economics on 50 years of establishment and development. At the same time, he noted that the school needs to focus on building a development strategy with the aspiration: Determined to build the school to truly become the leading economic management training center of the country, aiming at the region and the world; a prestigious policy consulting center of the central region and the whole country. To achieve the above goal, the school must become a reliable address for policy consulting research in the Central and Central Highlands regions in particular, and the country in general.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy - Principal of the school acknowledged: "50 years - not a long journey compared to history, but enough to portray a school with its own identity, spirit and mission, which is to train high-quality human resources, with innovative thinking, integration capacity and spirit of serving the community and the aspiration to contribute to the socio-economic development of the country, the region and the world".

The leaders of the University of Economics shared that, entering a new phase, the school continues to adhere to the three pillars of education: "Liberal - Self-sufficient - Useful", along with the core values: "Integrity - Respect - Sympathy - Cooperation - Creativity", aiming to become a research-oriented university with international prestige, making practical contributions to the cause of educational innovation and sustainable development.
