TT, a candidate in Ho Chi Minh City, said that three days ago, Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport (UTH) announced that he had been admitted to the Logistics and Supply Chain Management major with 1,001.85/1,200 points, higher than the standard score of 963. The school also sent instructions on paying the admission fee.
But on the morning of August 25, when looking up the Ministry's system, T. was surprised to see that he had only passed his 8th choice, the Textile Technology major at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry. "I was very worried, not knowing where to enroll. The school reported that I had passed but the Ministry's system said otherwise. I hope there will be an official explanation to reassure me," T. shared.

Universities and the Ministry of Education and Training need to handle this promptly to ensure fairness and legitimate rights for candidates.
The case of GK and PK is similar. GK met the standard score to enter the Logistics major at UTH, but the Ministry system reported that he passed his 5th choice at the International University (Ho Chi Minh City National University). Meanwhile, PK planned to enter the Automotive Technology major at UTH but was surprised to see that his result was "changed" to his 4th choice at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.
On the afternoon of August 25, a representative of UTH confirmed that they had received many complaints and committed to supporting candidates in a way that ensures the highest benefits. Not only at UTH, a representative of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (VNU Hanoi ) also recorded a similar situation. Candidates met the standard score but on the Ministry's system, they failed or passed their next wish. "Admission score is the most important legal factor, students who meet the standard score will receive maximum support," this person affirmed.
More seriously, many candidates reported that they "failed 100% of their wishes" despite having extra points in many majors. LTT ( Ha Tinh ) scored 24.75 points in block A00, failed the first wish to enter Ho Chi Minh City University of Education due to lack of points, but instead of being considered for the next wish, the system reported that all of them were failed. The case of KN (25.75 points) is similar, although he had extra points to enter Ho Chi Minh City University, he was still reported to have failed all of them.
According to preliminary statistics, on the afternoon of August 25 alone, nearly 30 candidates encountered similar situations. Many students burst into tears out of worry, because according to regulations, candidates must confirm their admission online on the Ministry's system before 5:00 p.m. on August 30. Otherwise, it is considered a refusal to enroll, meaning they will lose their chance to enter university this year.
MT - a candidate in Gia Lai said that on August 22, the system reported that he passed the Primary Education major, but only two days later, the result was changed to failed. PV (Gia Lai), K.Ng. (demobilized soldier) and TT (Quang Binh, scored 26.5 points in block C00) also fell into a similar situation: although they had extra points for their lower wishes, the system "locked" and reported that they all failed.
“The child cried, the mother cried, the whole family ran to ask for help, but every school said they had to wait for the official dispatch and opinion from the Ministry. Please save us!”, TT burst into tears.
To date, the Ministry of Education and Training has not provided a specific explanation. In an official dispatch dated August 24, the Ministry requested that candidates encountering difficulties contact their schools directly for support; schools are responsible for coordinating to handle errors and ensure the rights of candidates.
However, with the deadline for confirming admission only a few days away, dozens of candidates are still "sitting on pins and needles".
An admissions expert in Ho Chi Minh City said that the cause may come from the virtual filtering process: when schools change their admission scores at the last minute but do not update them in time, the system does not “release” candidates to other wishes. It is also possible that some schools made mistakes in announcing the list, leading to the situation of “virtual admissions”.
With the deadline for admission confirmation only a few days away, prompt and transparent handling by universities and the Ministry of Education and Training is not only a legal responsibility but also a guarantee of fairness and legitimate rights for thousands of candidates who are anxiously waiting.
