Referee fainted during physical examination, situation closely monitored: Signs of seriousness

As Thanh Nien reported, during the physical test for V-League referees at Hanoi Athletics Palace early in the morning of August 3, a referee suddenly fainted and had to be rushed to the emergency room.

According to records at the scene, after completing part of the test, the referee suddenly collapsed and lost consciousness.

Immediately, medical staff present at the inspection provided first aid before transferring the victim to the nearest hospital.

According to initial information, the referee's condition is showing signs of seriousness. It is known that the patient is currently being treated at a reputable hospital with very modern facilities near the Hanoi Athletics Palace.

Doctors have recommended keeping the patient in this hospital for treatment because moving further away could have a negative impact on the patient. The referee's family traveled from the southern region to Hanoi this afternoon and were present at the hospital.

In order to create favorable conditions and ensure the best physical condition for the referees, the Organizing Committee (OC) agreed on a plan with all referees to prepare and arrange the time for the test to start early in the morning, avoiding the effects of the hot weather in Hanoi in recent days. In addition, the medical work was also carefully prepared by the OOC with 4 ambulances and 4 medical teams on duty at the test points to be ready to respond to any arising situations.

In addition, to be eligible to participate in the physical examination, referees attending the training must ensure that they have health examination papers as prescribed in Circular 32/2023/TT-BYT. Before the physical examination, the referees' medical indicators were very good, without any abnormal signs. Therefore, they were allowed to undergo the physical examination.

Representatives of the Vietnam Football Federation and VPF along with the VFF Referee Board were present at the hospital when the incident occurred. Currently, medical departments and related departments continue to be present at the hospital to closely monitor developments and coordinate with medical facilities in treatment.
