On the morning of August 31, the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association visited the funeral of Meritorious Teacher - Director Nguyen Van Phuc, former Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City Theater and Cinema College (now Ho Chi Minh City Theater and Cinema University). People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association was moved to burn incense to bid farewell to a teacher of many generations of respected artists and theater and television directors.

Nguyen Van Phuc - Brilliant contributions

He is a Party member awarded the 40-year Party membership badge, belonging to the Party cell of Quarter 28, Cau Ong Lanh Ward Party Committee, Ho Chi Minh City. He was born in 1937 in Phu Cuong Commune, Kim Anh District, Vinh Phuc Province (now Noi Bai Commune, Hanoi City). His life and artistic career have been awarded by the State: Second-class Anti-American Resistance Medal; Cultural Soldier Medal, and Medal for the Cause of the Stage.

The funeral of Meritorious Teacher - Director Nguyen Van Phuc took place in the emotional atmosphere of many generations of students, famous artists and those closely associated with the Vietnamese stage.

The funeral was held at Block B3 Duc Khai Apartment, Tan My Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. The memorial service was held at 6:30 a.m. on September 1. The burial was then at Minh Hung Ward Cemetery, Dong Nai Province (formerly Chon Thanh, Binh Phuoc ).

Director Nguyen Thi Minh Ngoc recalls an unforgettable memory: "During an exam, the teacher suddenly fainted.

I was the one who took him to the medical room and heard his most painful confessions about his first wife - the Cheo artist Bach Tuyet - who had passed away. That was the only time I saw him weak, otherwise, he was always a strict, devoted and loving person towards his students" - she choked up as she recounted.

Artist Doan Mai Phuong (daughter of the late director and Meritorious Artist Doan Ba, currently living in the US) emotionally wrote on her personal page: "When I was 15 and a half years old, I secretly went to take the entrance exam to Stage Arts School 2 without my parents knowing. I was fortunate to study under the guidance of teacher Nguyen Van Phuc and teacher Kim Chi.

In the first four years, my teachers were strict but full of love, laying the foundation for my lifelong discipline and love of art. Today, hearing the news of his passing, my heart aches. I would like to express my gratitude to him and share this loss with his family."

Director Le Phuong Hung confided: "Teacher, I'm so sad, you're gone, I can't come back in time. I chose the happiest picture of you to remember you like when you taught us.

On behalf of class K15, I bow to you, teacher. I will always remember the first days you taught me. Even though you knew I didn't like being an actor, you still taught me wholeheartedly. I participated in the Tet plays at HTV that you directed, and learned many valuable things. I hope you rest in peace."

Many artists who were students of the late Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Van Phuc expressed their condolences when coming to pay their respects to the family.

From stage to cinema and television, the students of Meritorious Teacher and Director Nguyen Van Phuc are now familiar faces and big names in the art world. But they all admit that their success has a deep imprint from a devoted teacher who quietly sowed the seeds of knowledge and professional ethics.

In the funeral space, the whispers of gratitude and tears spoke for themselves. The teacher has passed away, but his image, voice, teaching style, advice and love for art that he left behind are still there, in every step, every role, every play of his students.
