According to Yonhap on July 29, Ms. Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, said the personal relationship between her brother and US President Donald Trump is "not bad", but affirmed that Pyongyang will not give up its nuclear program.
"The current personal relationship between the two leaders of North Korea and the US is not bad. However, if the personal relationship between the leaders of North Korea and the US serves the purpose of denuclearization, it can be interpreted as nothing more than mocking the other side," Kim Yo Jong said.

Kim Yo Jong's remarks came days after a White House official told Yonhap that President Trump remained open to working with the North Korean leader to achieve the goal of "complete denuclearization" of North Korea.
Experts say North Korea reaffirmed its stance that it will not sit at the negotiating table on denuclearization but appears to still leave open the possibility of negotiating with the US on other issues.
A day earlier, Kim Yo Jong made a statement on KCNA that North Korea would not sit at the negotiating table with South Korea, despite South Korean President Lee Jae Myung calling for efforts to mend inter-Korean relations on July 10, stressing that peace between the two countries is a practical way to ensure national security.
