Hands-on with the first phone with a back that changes color according to the weather

(Dan Tri) - Chinese phone company Realme has just introduced the smartphone duo 14 Pro and 14 Pro+, with the highlight being the back cover that can change color depending on temperature and weather.

In a mobile market that has become saturated with products with similar designs and features, technology companies must find ways to create smartphones with special highlights to attract users.

Realme has also done the same with the 14 Pro and 14 Pro+ duo that the company has just introduced. The highlight of these two smartphones is that they are equipped with a back cover with technology that can change color according to the weather or the ambient temperature.

Realme has partnered with Valeur Designers, a Denmark-based industrial design company, to develop and integrate heat-sensing technology into the duo, allowing the back of the 14 Pro and 14 Pro+ to automatically switch from pearl white to blue when the ambient temperature drops below 16 degrees Celsius.

When the temperature rises above 16 degrees Celsius, the back of the product will return to its original pearl white color.

However, the back of the product duo will not completely change color, but only change part of the pattern inside. Realme representative said that the back of each product will have a special pattern when changing color and there is no overlap between the two products.

The camera cluster on the Realme 14 Pro+ is integrated with 3 flash lights, which according to Realme can help illuminate more evenly when taking portrait photos at night, creating natural light and avoiding the phenomenon of overexposure when using the flash (Photo: GSMArena).

Realme has not announced detailed configuration information, price and launch date of the product duo, but said that the 14 Pro and 14 Pro + are both equipped with water resistance, and the 14 Pro + version will have a curved screen on all 4 sides.

In fact, this is not the first time the idea of a smartphone with a back that can change color has appeared. However, previous products can usually only change color based on viewing angle and light angle, not based on temperature conditions like Realme's new product duo.
