Awarding the "For the Young Generation" Medal to the Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam

NDO - On the occasion of the visit of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén before the end of his term, the Central Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union decided to award the "For the Young Generation" Medal to the Ambassador.

On the morning of November 1, in Hanoi , on behalf of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, comrade Bui Quang Huy, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Chairman of the National Committee on Vietnamese Youth, presented the "For the Young Generation" Medal to comrade Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén.

Speaking at the Medal Awarding Ceremony, Comrade Bui Quang Huy said: With the attention and direction of the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam and Cuba, the cooperation, solidarity and friendship between the Communist Youth Union and youth organizations of the two countries have been promoted and deepened in recent times, contributing to the development of the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.

The above achievements have the positive contribution of Ambassador Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén, especially in promoting information exchange and delegation exchange activities between the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Cuban Communist Youth Union and maintaining the annual scholarship program of the two governments for Vietnamese and Cuban youth and students.

For his part, Comrade Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén sincerely thanked the special affection that the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union as well as Vietnamese youth have for the country and people of Cuba.

Expressing his honor at receiving the Central Youth Union's noble award, the "For the Young Generation" Medal, Ambassador Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén affirmed: The special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba is always good and will become increasingly closer, with the contribution of the youth of the two countries through exchange activities, cooperation, and delegation exchanges.

Also at the ceremony, the two sides agreed to increase delegation exchanges in general and promote exchanges between youth from the two countries' localities in particular.
