Towards the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Forces' Traditional Day, the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection, and the 95th anniversary of musician Hoang Van's birth, the Department of Political Work, Ministry of Public Security directed Ho Guom Theater to perform a special art program "For the Next Generation" - introducing typical works of musician Hoang Van.
Awarding UNESCO World Documentary Heritage Certificate to the family of the late musician Hoang Van
Within the framework of the event, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong; Dr. Fackson Banda, Head of the Documentary Heritage Department, UNESCO Memory of the World Program; Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu; Chairman of the International Advisory Council of the Memory of the World Program Johannes Joseph Maria Bos presented the UNESCO World Documentary Heritage Certificate to the family of the late musician Hoang Van.
Musician Hoang Van (1930 -2015) is one of the great names in Vietnamese music. Musician Hoang Van's collection includes more than 700 musical works composed from 1951 to 2010, deeply reflecting the changes of the country and the spiritual life of the Vietnamese people through many periods. With a harmonious combination of European classical music and folk music, his works not only have artistic value but are also valuable documents serving the research of Vietnamese culture, society and music history.
The art program "For Ever After" introduces typical works of musician Hoang Van, gathering more than 200 artists.
According to information from the Department of Cultural Heritage, the collection of Musician Hoang Van includes music scores, audio recordings, handwritten or printed manuscripts, videos, articles, film music, interviews, books and music publications with about 1,000 items formed and developed over six decades. The collection is not only valuable works bearing the mark of Musician Hoang Van, but also reflects one of the historical turning points of Vietnamese music, the changes of the country and the spiritual life of the Vietnamese people through many periods.
With a harmonious combination of European classical music and folk music, his works not only have artistic value but are also valuable documents for research on Vietnamese culture, society and music history. In April 2025, his collection of works was recognized by UNESCO as a World Documentary Heritage.
The art program "For the next generations" includes 2 chapters: Reminiscence and For the next generations.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Le Y Linh, daughter of the late musician Hoang Van, expressed her sincere thanks to the agencies and individuals who accompanied the musician's family throughout the process of building the dossier to submit to UNESCO.
"Besides the pride and emotion, we are aware of our duty to continue to strengthen the protection and promotion of the value of the Collection according to UNESCO criteria. The inscription also encourages me to continue my research on the works of other composers of our father's time, who contributed to the formation of Vietnamese classical music in the second half of the 20th century," said Ms. Le Y Linh.
The art program “Forever and Ever” introduces the typical works of musician Hoang Van, gathering more than 200 artists, with the participation of famous artists, professional orchestras and choirs. In particular, the program is directly performed by musician Hoang Van’s two children: conductor Le Phi Phi – conductor of the music night and Dr. Le Y Linh – scriptwriter of the program.

The art program "For Ever After" consists of 2 chapters. Chapter I "Reminiscence" is a selection of works, recalling historical milestones and future aspirations recorded in the sounds of the musician's own life. The audience will have the opportunity to enjoy "Symphony No. II" and "Remembrance". One of the emotional highlights of the program is the musical composition of the poem "Night Scene" by President Ho Chi Minh, restored by conductor Le Phi Phi from the author's original text.
Besides, there are revolutionary songs that have stood the test of time such as "I am a miner", "That soldier", "Transportation song". Particularly, the work "Quang Binh, my homeland" was renewed with the combination of the Nguyet lute of People's Artist Co Huy Hung and the Symphony Orchestra, full of creativity between tradition and modernity.
Chapter II "For the Future" will open up a bright and vibrant space, expressing the spirit of construction and the beauty of a peaceful country. From the emotional transition point through the work "Lullaby in the Fireworks Night", the program takes viewers to childhood memories through the Suite for children: "I love my school", "The yellow-ringed bird", "The season of blooming royal poinciana flowers".
Along with that are melodies spanning across the country's homelands such as: "Tay Nguyen love song", "Sailor's heart song", "Singing about rice today", "Song of the people's teacher"... The program ended with the mashup "For today, for tomorrow, for forever", like a song of joy, praising peace, love and the eternal aspiration of the Vietnamese people./.
