Organizing the armed forces of An Giang province to be lean, compact and strong

On the afternoon of September 16, the An Giang Provincial Military Party Committee held a conference to review the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, dated October 25, 2017 of the 12th Party Central Committee "Some issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently".

The Party Committee and Military Command of An Giang province have led, directed, thoroughly implemented Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW and guiding documents on adjusting organization and staffing; thoroughly implemented and strictly complied with the arrangement and organization of the provincial armed forces in accordance with the organization and staffing table of the General Staff.

As a result, 1 provincial Military Command, 2 provincial military schools, 5 department-level agencies, 26 district-level military commands, 196 commune-level military commands, 79 agency commands, 2 boards, 2 companies were reduced; 6 regional defense commands, 2 companies, and 1 standing militia squadron were established.

The An Giang Provincial Military Party Committee led the completion of the consolidation and arrangement of the provincial armed forces in accordance with the new organizational structure. Organized the registration, management, and arrangement of reserve soldiers in accordance with regulations. The militia and self-defense force of the whole province reached 0.77% of the population, of which party members accounted for 25.09%. Arranged cadres of the military command of communes, wards, and special zones according to prescribed standards, including the positions of commander, deputy commander, and assistant.

Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Colonel Huynh Van Khoi, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the An Giang Provincial Military Command, requested that in the coming time, Party committees at all levels continue to thoroughly grasp the resolutions, directives, conclusions, plans, and instructions of the Central Committee, Military Region 9, and Provincial Party Committee; do a good job of political education, ideological orientation, creating high consensus and unity in the An Giang Provincial armed forces on innovation, streamlining, and organizing a lean, compact, and strong apparatus, operating effectively and efficiently.
