The 1st An Giang Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030 is an important political event of the province, a milestone of great significance laying the foundation for development and orientation for the term 2025 - 2030 and the following terms. To celebrate the Provincial Party Congress, the Provincial People's Committee will start and inaugurate a number of key works and projects in the province.
According to the plan, the People's Committee of An Giang province will hold the groundbreaking ceremony for projects serving the APEC conference, including Phu Quoc International Airport, Provincial Road 975, APEC Avenue project, Cua Can Lake project, APEC Conference Center project. Commencement of project works and public investment includes the bridge project on the coastal road connecting An Bien - Rach Gia; the belt road project parallel to Provincial Road 942; the Nui Sam Cultural Park ring road project, the groundbreaking of the bridge over Xang Canal; the project to upgrade and expand Huong Lo 11 including the main route and branch route to the center of Tan Lap commune connecting with Provincial Road 945 and the inauguration of Phu Tho Secondary School.
It is expected that on September 24, construction works serving the APEC conference in Phu Quoc will start; on September 29, construction of public investment works on the mainland will start.
Concluding the working session, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc emphasized that the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremony of works and projects to welcome the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030 is an event of important political significance, demonstrating the determination of the entire Party Committee, government and people of the province for the socio-economic development in the new period.

On behalf of the Provincial People's Committee, comrade Ngo Cong Thuc praised the high sense of responsibility of the departments, branches and localities in their efforts and urgent implementation of preparations for this event. After listening to comments from the departments, branches and localities, he requested the Department of Construction to synthesize and adjust the plan to submit to the Provincial People's Committee to ask for opinions from the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and prepare the next steps.
To ensure that the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies of the projects take place solemnly, safely, economically, thoughtfully and effectively, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc requested the Department of Construction to coordinate with relevant departments, branches, People's Committees of wards and special zones where the groundbreaking ceremony takes place to carefully prepare the reception, ceremony, program content and venue. The police, military and health forces will arrange forces to ensure security, order, fire prevention and fighting, and ensure the health and safety of delegates during the ceremony.
