News, forecast of coffee prices tomorrow 6/20/2025
Downward pressure continues
Based on technical and fundamental factors, coffee prices tomorrow, June 20, are likely to continue to decline slightly in the domestic market. Here are three main reasons:
Adjustment on Robusta floor: With a decrease of more than 150 USD/ton on London floor, exporting enterprises may adjust their raw material purchasing prices. This may lead to a further decrease of 100 - 300 VND/kg in Central Highlands coffee price in tomorrow's trading session.
Cautious sentiment from farmers and dealers: After recent strong fluctuations, growers and level 1 dealers tend to pause sales to monitor the situation, creating a quiet market lacking price momentum.
Stable weather in Brazil and Vietnam: There is no adverse weather information that is likely to affect the crop in the world's two largest coffee producing countries. Therefore, temporary weather factors do not have a positive impact on prices in the short term.
Market perspective
Coffee growers should be cautious as current prices show no clear signs of bottoming out. Although coffee prices are still higher than they were a year ago, the drop in international prices is causing producers to take a closer look.
If domestic prices fall below VND109,000/kg, selling pressure from farmers may increase to avoid the risk of capital loss, as input and transportation costs remain high. However, selling off at this time also carries risks, especially when the market is still in the accumulation phase and has the potential to recover if the London floor recovers.
Long term trend
In the long term, research organizations such as Rabobank and ICO remain optimistic about global coffee consumption trends in 2025, especially in emerging economies. Vietnam, as a leading Robusta exporter, will continue to benefit from this trend. Maintaining quality, traceability and optimizing the supply chain are essential to maintain a competitive position.
