The work Returning to the Family was once translated into Vietnamese by translator Ha Mai Anh. Later, there was another translation by translator Nguyen Bich Hang under the name The Floating Life of Roman Canbri. However, both of these printed versions were somewhat abridged and had some minor errors. This time, translator Le Dinh Chi translated the entire text of the work from the original French, as a gift for Vietnamese readers. In addition, the edition was supplemented with illustrations by artist Émile Bayard.
