On July 17, attending and giving a speech directing the 27th Congress of the Party Committee of Vietnam News Agency (VNA) for the 2025-2030 term, Politburo member, Secretary of the Government Party Committee, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh directed VNA to be a pioneer, exemplary, and take the lead in the Party's ideological front; protect the Party's ideological foundation; provide information, communication, and protect the rights and interests of the country and people.
With the motto "Solidarity-Democracy-Discipline-Breakthrough-Development", the 27th Congress of the Party Committee of the Vietnam News Agency is a broad political activity, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, democracy, innovation, and determination to build a clean, strong, innovative and creative Party Committee of the Vietnam News Agency, successfully fulfilling the tasks of a national news agency in the new era, contributing to the realization of the development goals of the Vietnam News Agency by 2030, with a vision to 2045, associated with the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the country. The Congress elected a new Party Executive Committee of 27 comrades.
Conveying the best wishes of General Secretary To Lam to the entire Congress, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the current world situation is changing rapidly, complicatedly and unpredictably; therefore, VNA, with its functions, tasks and powers, must respond and adapt promptly, flexibly and appropriately to the situation.
Assuming that in normal situations, we should behave normally; in special situations, we should behave specially; in urgent situations, we should behave promptly, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh noted that VNA must change its awareness, thinking, organization, operations, and work, according to its appropriate functions, tasks, and powers when the situation changes.
Emphasizing that VNA is the main and official information agency of the Party and State; therefore, it must grasp the situation, analyze, evaluate, and reflect the situation honestly and objectively; contribute to the implementation of the two strategic tasks of building and defending the Fatherland; grasp the situation, propose solutions, not to let the Party and State be passive or surprised; ensure the strategy related to the scope of functions and tasks of VNA.
The Prime Minister requested the Party Committee of VNA and VNA journalists to promote the heroic tradition of the three-time Heroic Agency, maintain solidarity and unity within the organization, in leadership, direction and operation according to the Party's guidelines and the State's laws; promote democracy; innovate thinking, vision and creativity in programs and actions, with a long-term vision, think deeply, do big things and act decisively, worthy of the Party's trust, the people's support and the traditions built by previous generations.
The Prime Minister pointed out that VNA must continue to be a pioneer, exemplary, and take the lead in the Party's ideological front; information, communication, and protection of the Party's ideological foundation; protection of the rights and interests of the country and the people; pioneer in the development, application of science, technology, innovation, digital transformation and international integration, and integration with the revolutionary cause of the Party and the people. In particular, effectively implementing the four Resolutions of the Politburo - the "four pillars" and the upcoming Resolutions on health, culture, and education will be issued by the Politburo.
In addition to implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Party Central Committee and the Politburo have recently implemented many new policies and guidelines to bring the country into a new era - the era of national development, including the transition from a passive state to a proactive one in serving and addressing people's needs. The Prime Minister requested the Party Committee of VNA and VNA to creatively apply the Party's policies and guidelines to build the Party organization and the VNA management apparatus in the new conditions.
The Prime Minister hopes and believes that after this Congress, the Party Committee of VNA and VNA will have innovations in thinking, vision, and action programs, with new, practical, and effective fighting strength to serve the cause of the Party, State, and people; continue to maintain solidarity and unity; improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization and Party members so that each day VNA will record new, proud achievements.
With sincere gratitude and acceptance of the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Party Secretary and General Director of VNA Vu Viet Trang affirmed that VNA seriously and fully accepts the direction of the Prime Minister, strives to build a clean and strong Party organization in all aspects, continues to affirm and enhance the position of VNA as a national news agency, a strategic and trustworthy information agency of the Party and State, and builds a team of VNA journalists who are truly professional, courageous, creative and humane./.
