Prime Minister hands over appointment decisions to leaders of 8 ministries and agencies

(Chinhphu.vn) - On the afternoon of September 4, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo member, Secretary of the Government Party Committee, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a conference to announce and hand over the Prime Minister's Decisions on receiving, transferring, and appointing leaders of ministries and agencies: Health, Justice, Science and Technology, Education and Training, Government Inspectorate, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Hanoi National University.

Attending the conference were Politburo members: Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang; Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh; Minister of Public Security , General Luong Tam Quang; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung.

Also attending were members of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Ministers , Deputy Secretaries of the Government Party Committee, Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Government agencies, leaders of relevant central and local ministries, branches.

The conference heard the announcement and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presented the Politburo's Decision appointing comrade Le Hoai Trung to join the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Previously, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh handed over the Decision to accept Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office to work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and assigned the authority of Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Implementing the Decisions and opinions of the Politburo and the Secretariat, on September 3, the Prime Minister issued Decisions on accepting and appointing Mr. Le Van Loi, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, to the position of President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences; accepting and appointing Mr. Vu Manh Ha, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee, to the position of Standing Deputy Minister of Health;

Along with that, the Prime Minister mobilized and appointed Mr. Hoang Minh Son, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, to hold the position of Chairman of the Council and Director of Hanoi National University; received and appointed Mr. Tran Hong Thai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Lam Dong province, to hold the position of Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.

Appoint and transfer Mr. Vu Hai Quan, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Council, Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University to hold the position of Permanent Deputy Minister of Science and Technology; assign and transfer Mr. Le Quan, Chairman of the Council, Director of Hanoi National University to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Education and Training.

Presenting the Decision on receiving, transferring and appointing leaders of ministries and agencies; speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh reviewed the qualifications, capacity, working process and contributions of the 8 comrades who were received, transferred and appointed on this occasion; said that being appointed to new positions not only demonstrates the qualifications, capacity and prestige of the comrades but also demonstrates the trust and great expectations of the Party and State leaders for each comrade.

The comrades who were received, transferred and appointed are all qualified and capable leaders who have been well-trained and have held many positions in many fields at the central and local levels; regardless of their positions, they have constantly strived and completed well the assigned tasks.

The Prime Minister believes and hopes that in their new positions and tasks, all comrades will continue to promote their highest responsibility, capacity, strengths and intelligence, together with the Party Committee, the Standing Committee, the leaders of the Ministry, agencies and the team of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers to unite, "keep a steady hand at the helm", constantly strive, overcome difficulties, overcome challenges, inherit and promote the good traditions of the agency, industry and field and do better, achieve more results, and excellently complete the tasks assigned by the Party, State and People.

Analyzing the world and regional situation in the coming time, with more difficulties and challenges than favorable opportunities, the Prime Minister said that it is necessary to have innovative thinking, take drastic actions, and adapt quickly to the situation; requiring ministries, agencies, especially leaders to be united, "in the same team, with the same direction, with the same goals".

The Prime Minister requested that newly assigned and appointed comrades immediately get to work; work together with the leadership of ministries and agencies to strengthen solidarity, cooperation, and close coordination, maintain qualities and mettle in the face of difficulties and challenges; set an example in strictly implementing and implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; build a truly clean and strong Party organization, and improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of Party organizations and Party members. In the immediate future, focus on concretizing and effectively implementing the Resolutions and Conclusions of the Party, the National Assembly, and the Government in the fields of investment, scientific and technological research; education, training, and care and protection of people's health.

Along with that, continue to pay attention to building a team of cadres and civil servants who are truly brave, politically steadfast, professionally proficient, skilled, and effective in their work; do a good job of cadre work because "Cadres are the root of all work"; encourage cadres to dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility for the common good; build and propose appropriate policies and remuneration regimes for cadres.

Noting the shift from passive to proactive, actively performing tasks and emphasizing a number of key, specific tasks for each ministry, agency and newly mobilized and appointed officials, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that taking on new tasks, especially in breakthrough sectors such as education, science and technology, health care, and scientific research, is both an honor but also a responsibility and a great challenge for you, comrades.

Expressing his hope that the Party and State leaders, the collective leadership of ministries and agencies will continue to care for, help and support the newly appointed comrades, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the Government will always accompany and create all favorable conditions for the comrades to work and contribute to the common activities of the Government.
