The BRICS 2025 Summit, themed "Strengthening Southern Cooperation to Promote More Inclusive and Sustainable Governance", is one of the important multilateral events, participated by about 20 senior leaders of countries, the United Nations Secretary-General and leaders of many international organizations.
Vietnam's becoming a partner country of BRICS, as well as attending the Summit, affirms its role and responsible contribution to multilateral mechanisms with the desire to make efforts to contribute, enhance the voice and role of developing countries, promote international solidarity, inclusive and comprehensive multilateralism in the spirit of respecting international law as well as further deepening the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and BRICS member countries.

The BRICS group of emerging economies was established in 2006 and currently has 10 member countries, including Russia, China, Brazil, India, South Africa, Iran, Ethiopia, Egypt, Indonesia and the UAE. In addition, there are 10 partner countries, including Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand. In the context of the world undergoing profound changes in politics , economics and climate, BRICS has emerged as a new model of strategic cooperation, playing an increasingly clear role in reshaping the global order. BRICS also aims to build alternative institutions, reduce dependence on organizations such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and encourage the emergence of developing economies.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh participated and delivered a speech at the High-Level Discussion on the topic: Strengthening multilateralism, economic issues, finance and artificial intelligence; participated and delivered a speech at the High-Level Discussion on the topic: Environment, COP 30 and global health; and participated in the Launch of the Leaders' Framework Statement on Climate Finance and the Launch of the BRICS Partnership on Eradicating Social Diseases.
During the two-day conference, BRICS member countries focused on enhancing cooperation in areas such as health, artificial intelligence and climate change. Host country Brazil hopes that the agreements reached at this year's conference will promote effective cooperation, contributing to solving the sustainable development challenges of emerging economies.
