On November 25, international media reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had temporarily accepted a ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah in Lebanon, although there were still many disagreements that needed further discussion.

CNN quoted a source as saying that Mr. Netanyahu approved the deal "in principle" on the night of November 24, but Israel still had doubts about some details.

Israel's Ynet news website also reported earlier that the country had provisionally approved a proposed ceasefire in Lebanon and was now awaiting final cabinet approval.

Meanwhile, according to Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saa on the same day, the terms of a potential ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah would be for the movement to disarm and move away from the border with the Middle Eastern country.

“The test of any agreement will be the implementation of two main points, not in words or expressions. The first is to prevent Hezbollah from moving south across the Litani River and the second is to prevent Hezbollah from rebuilding and rearming throughout Lebanon ,” Saar told the Knesset, according to Israeli television.

The information was released in the context that last week, US President's Special Envoy for the Middle East Amos Hochstein visited Lebanon and Israel to promote a ceasefire.

Axios (USA) reported at that time that Mr. Hochstein warned Israeli Ambassador to Washington Yechiel Leiter that if the Middle Eastern country's government did not support the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon in the coming days, he would stop mediating in the negotiations.

Axios also cited a source saying that Israel was "getting closer" to accepting a ceasefire deal with Lebanon, while unnamed US officials confirmed that the parties were close to accepting the deal, but there was still "some work to do".
