Thiago Silva is worthy of being the leader of Fluminense. |
Silva played for Paris Saint-Germain from 2012 to 2020 and earned around £200,000 a week, which equates to £11m a year. After joining Chelsea in 2020, the Brazilian star signed a contract worth around £96,000 a week, earning around £5m a year.
By 2024, when he leaves European football to return home to join Fluminense, Silva will be on just £27,000 a week, equivalent to £1.4 million a year.
However, in addition to his salary, Silva also has significant income from sponsorship and advertising contracts. He was a long-time ambassador for Nike, participating in many advertising campaigns during his time playing for PSG and the Brazilian national team.
Silva also has a partnership with Nissan, a regular partner in the UEFA Champions League. When he returned to play in Brazil, the former PSG and AC Milan star was the face of pharmaceutical brand Hebron, alongside endorsement deals with Gatorade, Gillette and Samsung. These deals are estimated to earn Silva close to £1m a year.

Silva is now an ambassador for Puma after signing a deal in July 2024. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
In the early morning of June 18, Silva contributed to Fluminense's 0-0 draw with Dortmund at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™. At the age of 40, the central defender left a classy performance in defense, frustrating Dortmund's strikers.
What makes Silva admired by fans is his unwavering commitment to his own standards. Despite all the glory he has experienced - from the Brazilian national team to top European clubs - Silva has never lost his desire to fight and his desire to contribute.
