Recall of 22 types of fake pharmaceutical drugs and drugs for treating bone and joint diseases

The Cao Bang Provincial Department of Health has just issued Document No. 4448/SYT-NV dated August 11, 2025 to the People's Committees of communes and wards; units under the Department of Health; private medical examination and treatment facilities; and drug trading establishments in the province regarding the recall of counterfeit drugs and drugs illegally circulating on the market after the counterfeit drug production and consumption ring was dismantled by the Investigation Police Agency of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police.

According to Official Dispatch No. 6954/CV-CSKT dated July 31, 2025 of the Investigation Police Agency of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police on coordination in recalling counterfeit drugs. Cao Bang Provincial Department of Health requests units, business establishments, and drug-using establishments to review and inspect that they are not allowed to trade, sell, or use the following 22 (twenty-two) fake Western medicines and drugs for treating bone and joint diseases:

Tetracycline TW3 tablets (Tetracycline hydrochloride 250mg), 400 tablets/bottle, on the bottle is written: "Registration number: VD-28109 - 17" and "Batch number: 2525", date of manufacture: June 6, 2024, manufactured by TW 3 Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company; Clorocid TW3 (Cloramphenicol 250mg), 400 tablets/bottle, on the bottle is written: "Registration number: VD-25305 - 16" and "Batch number: 3333", date of manufacture: June 6, 2024, manufactured by TW 3 Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company; Pharcoter medicine, 400 tablets/bottle, is a white plastic bottle, on the bottle is written: "Registration number: VD-14429-11" and "Production batch number: 30060" manufactured by Central Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company 1 (Pharbaco).

Counterfeit Neo-Codion medicine product type 02 blisters x 10 tablets, blue box with batch number: 2022, production date 08/08/2024, expiry date: 08/2027; Imported company: Tedis - Viet Ha Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company; Neo-Codion medicine type 02 blisters x 10 tablets, blue box with batch number 1909, production date: 10/10/2023, expiry date: 10/2026 Imported company: Tedis - Viet Ha Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company.

Fugacar Janssen Mebendazole 500mg deworming medicine, date of manufacture: December 21, 2022, batch number: 2214016, expiry date: December 21, 2027, Trading Company: Janssen- Cilag Ltd., Thailand; joint pain medicine, numbness and paralysis; Tui Hua Shen Jing Tong medicine (commonly known as Singapore degeneration medicine); Cordyceps ginseng velvet, spleen and appetite stimulant, great tonic medicine; Profeessor's Pill medicine (commonly known as green joints); Mujarhabat Kapsul medicine (commonly known as red joints); Gai cot hoan medicine; Toa cot thien ma thong phong hoan medicine; Tuyet lien thien ma bao khop hoan medicine; Phong analgesic Bach Xa Vuong medicine; Phong analgesic Ho Cot Hoan medicine; Da sinus medicine; Neck and shoulder inflammation medicine; Yuan Bone medicine; Tam duong toa cot bach thong don medicine; Thoai hoa dau khop hoan plus medicine; Thoai hoa toa cot don medicine; Song long thong phong dan medicine.

The Department of Health requested the People's Committees of communes and wards to strengthen inspection and examination of pharmaceutical businesses, wholesale and retail establishments, and drug users in the area, focusing on checking the origin and source of drugs.

In case pharmaceutical business establishments in the province inspect and review the list of drugs traded at the establishment and detect drugs with signs of suspected counterfeit drugs or drugs that have not been licensed for circulation, they shall seal and store the above drugs, report the list and quantity of the above drugs (if any) and send them to the Department of Health for handling according to the provisions of law.
