On the afternoon of February 19, 2024, the 18th term People's Council of Nghe An province held the 18th session (special session) to review and approve contents under its authority.
Comrades: Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council chaired the meeting.
At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council unanimously approved the draft Resolution on the policy of converting forest use to other purposes to implement projects in the province.
Accordingly, the Provincial People's Council unanimously approved the policy of converting forest use purposes to other purposes for 8.3394 hectares of forest, including 2.1137 hectares of protection forest and 6.2257 hectares of production forest to implement projects in Nghe An province.
The conversion of forest use to other purposes for 8.3394ha of forest is to implement the 500kV Quang Trach - Quynh Luu transmission line project (in Nghe An province) and the 500kV Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa transmission line project (in Nghe An province). The locations of forests converted to other purposes are in Dien Chau, Nam Dan, Nghi Loc, Quynh Luu districts and Hoang Mai town.
The 500kV Quang Trach - Quynh Luu and 500kV Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa transmission line projects belong to the 500kV 3-circuit transmission line project from Quang Trach to Pho Noi.
This is a national key project whose investment policy was approved by the Prime Minister on December 1, 2023, in which the project implementation schedule is to strive to complete before June 2024.
The 500kV transmission line projects in Nghe An province have a total length of 99.83 km with 202 pole foundation locations. To date, the province has mobilized the handover of 163/202 pole foundation locations; of which, 130/163 locations can be implemented, the remaining 33 locations will be eligible for construction after the Provincial People's Council approves the policy of converting forest use purposes.
