Master Nguyen Phuoc Bao Khoi, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, assessed that the high school graduation exam in literature reflects life, meets the orientation of assessing capacity, qualities, and has high differentiation.
Accordingly, the 2025 high school graduation exam in literature is closely linked to the current situation of the country, both associated with the sacred heroic tradition and evoking the spirit of entering a new era, integrating personal responsibility in the positive changes of the nation. Not only ensuring the goal of assessing capacity, the exam has contributed to successfully completing the requirement of assessing the results of formation and development of qualities, which is a strength and also an inevitable requirement for the subject of literature. Moreover, the differentiation of the exam is very good, completely meeting the requirement of using results for admission to universities and colleges.
Lecturers from Ho Chi Minh City University of Education assessed that in the reading comprehension section, the selection of materials was very good, meeting the criteria set forth in the 2018 General Education Program of the subject. In particular, the topic and content value of the materials have truly become good materials if students know how to effectively exploit them for the social discussion section.
The system of reading comprehension questions refers to factors such as narrative, typical details, thematic content and some artistic features that clarify thematic content, which very well meets the requirements for reading skills in the short story genre of the program. The questions are guaranteed to be distributed according to cognitive levels and have high connectivity.

If students are observant, they will realize that the necessary evidence for the paragraph writing part has been suggested from the reading comprehension questions above. That is the humane spirit of the question maker for first-year students taking the exam according to the new program.
Master Bao Khoi predicts that the average score for the literature subject in this year's high school graduation exam may be concentrated at 6 to 6.5.
