Candidates 'beat their chests' confidently achieving 9 points in Literature for graduation

The candidates happily left the exam room, hugging their parents to celebrate after successfully completing the Literature graduation exam.

This morning (June 25), candidates completed the Literature subject of the 120-minute high school graduation exam.

With the essay topic "Every homeland's sky is the Fatherland's sky", many candidates are confident that they can achieve a good score or higher.

Most of the candidates walked out in a fairly relaxed mood.

Tran Mai Linh (far left) finished the test about 15 minutes before the end of the time. The female student assessed that this year's test was quite good when the literary essay required candidates to analyze the feelings of the character Le for Son. The social essay discussed the topic "the sky of any homeland is the sky of the Fatherland", based on the candidates' understanding of the context of the country undergoing many great changes.

“Regarding the Social Essay section, I had previously guessed that the topic might be about the Country, but I did not expect it to fall on this topic. I cited the direction of General Secretary To Lam associated with the era of rising up and the spirit of national solidarity. This is a rather surprising but also very meaningful direction,” Nguyen Minh Thu (Tran Phu High School, Hoan Kiem) confidently won 8-9 points or more.

Ms. Mai Lan hugged her daughter to congratulate her on completing her first exam. "Regardless of whether the result is high or low, she has tried very hard and done well. I will always support her with all my heart," Ms. Lan said.

Mr. Hung Lam happily welcomed his daughter after the first exam. "This morning, I asked for leave from work to take my daughter to the exam. When my daughter announced that she passed the exam, I was very happy," said Mr. Lam.

According to information from the Ministry of Education and Training , this year's exam closely follows the program, in the direction of developing qualities and abilities. The exam will have differentiated questions requiring connection to solving practical problems. The content of the questions is mainly from the 12th grade program, but there are still questions related to grades 10 and 11.

This year, the Literature exam will be in essay format with a time limit of 120 minutes. The exam consists of 2 parts: Reading Comprehension (4 points) and Writing (6 points). In previous years, the Literature exam was designed with 2 parts: Reading Comprehension (3 points) and Writing (7 points).

This year's exam will have two different sets of exam questions for candidates taking the 2006 and 2018 generaleducation programs. Candidates taking the old 2006 general education program will apply the 2024 high school graduation exam regulations and candidates taking the new general education program will apply the 2025 high school graduation exam regulations.

High school graduation exam scores for 2025 were announced on July 16.
