The dialogue attracted more than 200 delegates representing departments, agencies, businesses, professional associations... in Ho Chi Minh City to answer difficulties and problems of businesses in the tourism sector.
At the conference, businesses reflected and proposed tax reductions, support for organizing tourism promotion programs such as famtrip (familiarization trip), presstrip (press trip); adjusting land use planning to serve coastal tourism projects; building rest stops on highways to enhance connectivity and destination attraction.
In particular, in the context of Ho Chi Minh City merging administrative boundaries and implementing a two-tier government model, businesses requested information support and guidance on legal procedures related to updating licenses, specialized reports, accommodation facility rankings and administrative procedures after the merger.
Businesses are also interested in developing tourism in potential areas such as Con Dao special economic zone, Ho Chi Minh City suburbs, etc.; proposing to loosen regulations on inland waterway infrastructure, diversify products and improve service quality.
In addition, recommendations on transportation, pick-up and drop-off points on central routes, training of local tourism human resources, regional connectivity and orientation for developing Ho Chi Minh City (new) into a key tourism center were also raised at the dialogue.
At the conference, representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and related units directly answered issues raised by business representatives.
In particular, contents related to the conversion of state management models, instructions on procedures for updating licenses, and support after administrative boundary mergers are all clearly guided, creating favorable conditions for businesses to stabilize their operations.
Many businesses appreciate the listening and thorough explanation of representatives of functional agencies, demonstrating the spirit of openness, responsibility and standing side by side with the business community of the Ho Chi Minh City government.
Resolving most of the problems right at the dialogue conference created an atmosphere of consensus and trust in the business community.
