In order to concretize the Government's goals in the National Digital Transformation Programs to 2025, with a vision to 2030; Cashless Payment Project for the period 2021 - 2025..., the Vietnam Youth Union of An Giang province organizes "An Giang Youth Festival with digital transformation and cashless payment" in 2024.
Experience cashless payment at the festival
The festival took place with many exciting activities, including a roadshow to promote cashless payment activities. The activities started from Ton Duc Thang Street, through the following routes: Nguyen Thai Hoc, Nguyen Hoang, Ha Hoang Ho, Nguyen Trai, Hai Ba Trung, Le Trieu Kiet and ended at Ton Duc Thang Street (Long Xuyen City). The festival also featured the display and introduction of consumer products, culinary services, and OCOP products of localities. Delegates, union members, youth, and people in neighboring areas experienced digital transformation and cashless payments in transactions and shopping. At the same time, propaganda and advice were given to small traders about digital transformation by distributing leaflets; direct instructions via smartphones, banners, etc.
Participating in the festival, Le Thien Nhan (11H grade student, Thoai Ngoc Hau High School for the Gifted) said that cashless payments are becoming more and more popular in modern life. This payment method helps limit the circulation of cash, reduce the costs of printing, transporting, controlling and storing money. In addition, cashless payments help buying and selling activities take place quickly and safely; bring many positive values to the whole society and are in line with the digital transformation trend of the times.
“With the spirit of “Wherever there is a need, there is a youth, wherever there is difficulty, there is a youth”, on behalf of the members and youth of An Giang province, I will respond, propagate, and guide members, youth, relatives and people to access and use non-cash payment services in purchasing goods. Thereby, contributing to changing the traditional payment mindset, towards a cashless society” - Thien Nhan shared.
Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of An Giang Province Do Minh Sang said that the 12th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has identified 12 important contents for the 2022 - 2027 term. Of which, "Digital capacity" is one of the key targets. In addition, the Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of An Giang Province (term 2022 - 2027) also identified the Project "An Giang Youth Participating in Digital Transformation in the 2022 - 2027 Period" as one of the 7 key projects. The project clearly defines the goal that by 2027, over 60% of youth and children will have access to digital capacity building activities; at least 50% of youth will use online public services, and 70% of youth will use electronic payment accounts.
Currently, the youth union members are able to quickly access new and modern trends through technology devices and the network environment. This is also a young team to propagate and mobilize people to apply digital technology in their daily lives. In recent times, the Youth Union and associations at all levels have promoted the pioneering spirit in implementing digital transformation activities. Typically: Establishing volunteer teams to guide people in using online public services; taking advantage of cyberspace, digital platforms, and social networks in propaganda, education and organizing movement activities of the Youth Union; building software to manage union members, etc.
With these advantages, through the "An Giang Youth Festival with digital transformation and cashless payment", Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of An Giang province Do Minh Sang suggested that affiliated units step up propaganda to raise awareness of digital transformation and cashless payment methods to all levels of the Youth Union, associations, union members, youth and people. In addition, build a platform for cashless transactions and purchases for union members, youth and people in markets, shopping centers...
The Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of An Giang province proposed that 100% of Youth Union and Association officials at all levels must take the lead in implementing cashless payments. Focus on essential services: Electricity, water, telecommunications fees, tuition fees, hospital fees and administrative procedures in the province.
