PTIT aims to become a national key university in engineering and technology.

On June 12, 2025, the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) held the 7th Congress of Party Delegates of the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, term 2025 - 2030.

The congress was attended by 108 party members representing 659 party members of the Academy Party Committee.

Prof. Dr. Tu Minh Phuong, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Academy Council, reported on the term summary.

Reporting on the 2020-2025 Congress term, Prof. Dr. Tu Minh Phuong, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of the Academy Council, emphasized some results of implementing the resolution for the 2020-2025 term.

Accordingly, the Party Committee of the Academy has promptly deployed and continued to direct the implementation of Resolution 18-NQ/TW and Resolution 19-NQ/TW of the 6th Central Conference, 7th term. The Academy Council for the 2020-2025 term was established and operated effectively. The Academy has also completed its organizational model, functions and tasks and prepared to establish the Academy Branch in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Party Committee has clearly identified key and key tasks, directed their implementation with many synchronous solutions, creating positive changes in the implementation process. The role, position and prestige of the Academy have been affirmed, making a breakthrough, becoming a key National University of Engineering and Technology, a pioneering university in digital transformation.

Overview of the Congress

During the 2020 - 2025 term, the training scale of the Academy continues to grow strongly, from 13,505 students/trainees in 2020 to 25,126 students/trainees in 2024, reaching 186%. Of which, the regular university training system increased from 12,202 with 10 majors/training programs (CTDT) in 2020 to 20,256 students with 23 majors/CTDT in 2024.

The Academy continues to adjust its structure and develop its majors and training programs towards modernity and international integration. Many new majors have been successfully opened such as: Artificial Intelligence (AI), microchip and semiconductor design, financial technology (FinTech), Internet of Things (IoT), data engineering, game design and development... Along with that, the development of learning materials is also focused on, actively deploying digital learning materials and MOOC courses with more than 20 courses in 2024.

The training quality of the Academy continues to be maintained and constantly improved. The rate of students graduating on time increased from 46% to 68% during the term; the employment rate after graduation has always been maintained at over 90%. The Academy's students have won many awards at prestigious national and international competitions such as ICPC, Math-Informatics Olympiad, ASEAN, AI competition, international start-up in Korea..., thereby affirming the prestige and training quality of the Academy both domestically and regionally.

With many incentive and incentive policies for researchers, lecturers and students, the Academy's scientific research activities have achieved remarkable results. The number of international publications of the Academy in WoS/Scopus journals has increased over the years, bringing the Academy from position 80 to position 40 in the VNUR rankings in 2025.

Regarding the goals and directions for the 2025 - 2030 term, the Chairman of the Academy Council emphasized: The Academy will continue to affirm its pioneering role and leading position in Vietnam in science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, to serve the country's industrialization and modernization, and successfully implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW.

The Academy develops into a leading center ofeducation , training and knowledge in Vietnam, promoting and affirming its position as a National Key University of Engineering and Technology, with quality and prestige on par with the region, playing a pivotal role in training high-quality human resources and talents, focusing on developing diverse educational and training products, meeting social needs with quality that meets international and regional standards.

Piloting and implementing digital university in a practical and effective manner

At the Congress, Comrade Tran Thi Nhi Thuy, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology, acknowledged and highly appreciated the outstanding achievements of the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology in the past term. In recent times, the Party and the State have continued to affirm the particularly important role of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in the cause of national development. The Politburo issued Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, identifying this as one of the strategic breakthroughs to improve labor productivity, promote economic growth and enhance national competitiveness.

In that context, the Academy is facing great opportunities and challenges. The Academy needs to promote the achievements in the Development Strategy for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030; at the same time, continue to review, update and build a long-term strategic vision to 2045.

This process needs to closely follow the directions of the Party Committee and the leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology, in order to clearly identify strategic breakthroughs, set out pioneering goals, and create a solid foundation for the rapid, sustainable and distinctive development of the Academy in the Vietnamese university education system. In particular, the Academy needs to focus on 4 priority directions such as: Piloting and implementing digital universities in a practical and effective manner; concentrating resources to become a leading unit in a number of key technology areas such as AI, new generation communications, semiconductor microchips, etc.; establishing a national Innovation Center located at the Academy; promoting technology transfer and commercialization of research products.

The Congress of Party Committee of the Academy of Military Technology elected a new Executive Committee of 15 members. Prof. Dr. Tu Minh Phuong, Chairman of the Academy Council, was re-elected as Secretary.

To achieve the set goals, the Party Committee of the Academy needs to do a good job in Party building, improve the quality and effectiveness of political and ideological work; pay attention to Party development work and innovate to improve the quality of Party activities and strengthen inspection and supervision work to help the Party Committee of the Academy always be a clean and strong Party organization.

In addition, the Party Committee of the Academy needs to ensure a close connection between Party work and professional tasks; focus on developing a team of young S&T staff with the capacity for independent and creative research. In particular, it is necessary to create consensus and unity within the entire Party Committee to bring the Academy to sustainable development./.
