Vietnam Navy's anti-submarine patrol ship completes MILAN 2024 exercise

On the afternoon of March 14, Ship 20 (anti-submarine patrol ship) of Squadron 132, Brigade 172, Naval Region 3, along with a working delegation led by Colonel Doan Bao Anh, Deputy Commander of Region 3, docked at Da Nang military port, ending the journey to participate in the 2024 MILAN Multilateral Naval Exercise in India and pay a friendly visit to Malaysia.

With the theme "Friendship - Bonding - Cooperation", Exercise MILAN 2024 has the participation of navies from 47 countries. The exercise is divided into 2 phases, taking place at locations onshore and in the sea area east of Visakhapatnam city.

During the port phase, Vietnam's Ship 20 participated in the following activities: Professional exchange, sea planning, maritime seminar, young officer exchange, street parade, sports and cultural exchange...

During the sea exercise, Ship 20 belonged to Tactical Group 3 and participated in the following activities: Formation maneuvering, communication, rescuing people who fell into the water, docking and inspecting suspicious ships, sea supply maneuvering and aerial photography of the formation. Thanks to thorough training and good preparation, Ship 20 of the Vietnam People's Navy successfully completed its mission.

Colonel Doan Bao Anh said that the 2024 MILAN Multilateral Naval Exercise was a great success. In carrying out activities within the framework of the exercise, the Vietnamese Navy delegation closely coordinated and coordinated with other forces to well implement the set plans, ensuring absolute safety.

"Participation in the MILAN multilateral naval exercise in India and exchange activities and diplomatic visits with the Royal Malaysian Navy aim to continue to improve coordination and cooperation in responding to common challenges in maritime security, while strengthening relations, cooperation, understanding and mutual trust between the armies and navies of the countries for peace and stability in the region and the world," said Colonel Doan Bao Anh.

This is the third time the Vietnam People's Navy has participated in the MILAN Exercise in India. MILAN 2024 is a large-scale exercise with the participation of many navies of many countries, including many activities both on land and at sea.

Through the successful completion of the items of the sea exercise phase, it has shown the level, seafaring capacity, and ability to master weapons and technical equipment of Ship 20 in particular, and of the Vietnam People's Navy in general, thereby contributing to the overall success of this year's exercise, further strengthening the friendly relationship and cooperation with the armies and navies of other countries.
