Vietnam Chemical Group works in Laos on Potassium salt mine project

A delegation of the Vietnam Chemical Group (Vinachem) led by Mr. Phung Quang Hiep, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vinachem, arrived in the Lao PDR to work with relevant authorities on the project of exploiting and processing potassium salt in Nongbok district, Khammouane province.

The delegation included Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Director of the Department of Industry, State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises; Representatives of the leaders: Department of Foreign Economic Relations - Ministry of Planning and Investment, State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC), General Department of Defense Industry, Chemical Engineering Company 13 (Z113), Vietnam Chemical Group and Vietnam - Laos Chemical and Mineral Salt Company Limited (Vilachemsalt).

In the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the delegation had working sessions with the Minister of Planning and Investment; the Minister of Energy and Mines and specialized Departments; the Laos - Vietnam Cooperation Committee, the Department of Mines (Ministry of Energy and Mines), the Department of Investment Promotion (Ministry of Planning and Investment), the Customs Department ( Ministry of Finance ), the Embassy of Vietnam in the Lao PDR; the Secretary - Chairman of Khammuoan province and representatives of departments and branches.

At the working sessions, Mr. Phung Quang Hiep reported on the policy of continuing to implement the Project and emphasized that the Vietnam Chemical Group considers this a key Project, focusing on high determination and devoting all resources to successfully implementing it.

"Vietnam Chemical Group has developed a detailed roadmap to continue implementing the Project within 3 years. However, Vietnam Chemical Group will strive to complete the investment and construction within 2.5 years if conditions permit, especially with the support and facilitation from Lao Government agencies" - Mr. Phung Quang Hiep affirmed.

Also at the working sessions with each ministry, branch, and agency, the Vietnam Chemical Group made specific recommendations for ministries, branches, agencies, and localities to support the implementation of the Project to achieve the desired results.

Ministries, branches, agencies and localities all expressed their joy when the Project was restarted and will coordinate and support as urgently as possible for each specific content, creating maximum conditions for the Project. At the same time, they requested the Vietnam Chemical Group to focus on implementing the Project as urgently as possible, if there are any difficulties or problems during the implementation process, they need to promptly report them to direct relevant agencies to jointly consider and resolve them.

After the working sessions, the delegation inspected the Project site (including the factory site, the exploitation well area, the Project management office) and visited, presented gifts, and encouraged the staff of Vilachemsalt Company on duty.
