In a friendly and open atmosphere, the two Prime Ministers expressed their pleasure at meeting again after Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to Malaysia in May 2025. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh respectfully conveyed the warm regards of General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and the Malaysian leaders.
The two leaders emphasized the importance of creating new momentum to further deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, especially implementing the Action Program to implement the comprehensive strategic partnership for the 2025-2030 period. In that spirit, the two sides agreed to continue to increase delegation exchanges and contacts at all levels through all channels; and continue to effectively implement bilateral cooperation mechanisms.

The two Prime Ministers agreed to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation, including facilitating the import and export of potential and strong products of both sides such as agricultural and aquatic products, food, electronic components, and construction materials; promoting agricultural and supporting cooperation, ensuring food security, energy, oil and gas, and power transmission cooperation among ASEAN countries; and expanding cooperation in the fields of digital economy, circular economy, and green economy.
The Malaysian Prime Minister proposed that the two countries establish a mechanism for cooperation in fishing exploitation. For this mechanism to be effectively implemented, the Malaysian Prime Minister emphasized the need for the participation of businesses from both sides. The two leaders also agreed to directly relevant ministries and sectors to study and develop cooperation mechanisms and related agreements in these areas.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed that Malaysia strengthen cooperation in digital transformation, including supporting the construction of a national data center connected to the ASEAN data center. Based on the Prime Minister's proposal, the two sides agreed to long-term cooperation in ensuring food security for Malaysia, in which Vietnam will ensure stable rice exports to Malaysia. The Prime Minister emphasized that Vietnam supports and will coordinate to support Malaysia in successfully assuming the role of ASEAN Chair 2025.
Prime Minister Amwar Ibrahim agreed with the proposals of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and expressed his gratitude for Vietnam's support and close coordination with Malaysia during its ASEAN Chairmanship year.
On this occasion, the two leaders also discussed a number of international and regional issues of mutual concern and emphasized working with ASEAN countries to promote cooperation, solidarity and the central role of ASEAN.
