The practicality of old Tet spaces

Although there is still more than a week until Tet, in the past few days it seems that the Tet atmosphere has begun for many people.

Director of Thanh Hoa Provincial Museum Trinh Dinh Duong said that at the old Tet check-in space at the museum, these days there have been many people immersing themselves in the Tet scene, living in the spring atmosphere with old features.

In Dong Son ancient village, Ham Rong ward, Thanh Hoa city, after the city People's Committee opened the space "Old Tet in the ancient village" on the morning of January 18, many people from the city and neighboring areas came to experience the activities here. At the food stalls or at the performance spaces, experiencing traditional games and performances always had a lot of participants.

These activities have been organized by Thanh Hoa City People's Committee and the Provincial Museum consecutively in recent years and have been very successful, as evidenced by the fact that they have attracted a lot of people, including many young people, to participate for a period of half a month to nearly a month.

The cultural and tourism event “Old Tet in the ancient village” is gradually becoming a typical cultural tourism product of the city during the traditional Tet holiday. At Thanh Hoa Provincial Museum, with each Tet having a different theme, one year organizing a space to demonstrate the traditional incense making profession, one year recreating the trading area during the subsidy period, one year recreating the old street space, old spring costumes to serve tourists, the museum has gradually “stepped out” of an academic space, to be closer to the public, becoming an attractive destination.

According to the Director of the Provincial Museum, not only do regular visitors come here to practice and experience, but there are also many couples who come here to take wedding photos and senior students who choose to take graduation photos.

Different ways of doing things, but with the same goal, which is to bring tourism products to serve the practical needs of the public during Tet, the subjects are gradually making life more meaningful. That is very valuable when we know that in the hustle and bustle of life, somewhat pragmatic today, many traditional values, including the rituals of Tet, are gradually disappearing, even being forgotten.

Through activities recreating the beauty of the old Tet, it has created opportunities for many older people to relive their past; and young people have the opportunity to understand more about the beauty of the old Tet. These positive things not only create an excited psychological state for people to enter a new spring, but also are specific actions that contribute to building an advanced Vietnamese culture with a strong national identity.
