In Me Bon village, Song Ma commune, floodwaters suddenly poured in at night, causing many households to be deeply submerged. People here had to stay up all night to urgently move the elderly, children and their belongings to safety. An atmosphere of anxiety and tension prevailed as the water level rose in a short period of time.


Nam Ty commune is also being severely affected. Heavy rains have caused landslides on many roads and residential areas. In Na Tong village, Pan village and the commune center, rocks and soil from the mountains have fallen with floodwaters, damaging many crops and greatly affecting people's lives.


In Chieng So commune, the situation is even more serious when 2 people in Na Can 2 village went missing during the night. As of 8:00 this morning, the search is still being urgently deployed. Many traffic routes are cut off due to landslides and broken electric poles, making it difficult to access the scene.
Ma River flood exceeds alert level 3
According to the Meteorological and Hydrological Station of Son La province, last night in the Ma River area, there was local rainfall of over 200mm, causing the water level of the Ma River to rise rapidly. At 3:00 a.m. on July 27, the flood peak on the Ma River exceeded the alarm level 3 by 1.46m and is currently putting the entire riverside area on alert.


At 7am this morning, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting issued a warning of a very high risk of flash floods, landslides and subsidence on slopes and small streams in Lai Chau, Dien Bien , Son La and Quang Tri provinces. In the next 6 hours, these areas will continue to be on red alert due to strong currents and weak ground after heavy rain. Satellite data observations show that many places in Lai Chau and Son La will still have heavy rain after 8am this morning.

However, according to the meteorological agency, looking at a large area, this morning and noon, the North will have less rain, sunny weather with temperatures of 32-35 degrees Celsius, thunderstorms may appear in the evening, with thunder and lightning.

The area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang continues to have thunderstorms, some places with heavy rain over 70mm, with potential risk of flooding in low-lying areas, landslides and flash floods in mountainous areas.
The South Central Coast only has rain in some places in the late afternoon, strong sunshine during the day, temperatures range from 32-34 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the Central Highlands and Southeast regions are likely to experience heavy rain of over 50mm this afternoon and evening, and continue to be on guard against localized flooding and accompanying lightning.
