Soobin explodes at 8Wonder, telling stories about Vietnamese culture with courage and confidence with world stars

On the stage of 8Wonder 2025: Moments of Wonder with the participation of famous stars of contemporary world music such as DJ Snake, J Balvin, The Kid LAROI and DPR IAN, Soobin was not at all outdone but was like a perfect bridge between Vietnamese and international music.

Taking place at the National Exhibition and Fair Center - the largest exhibition center in Southeast Asia, beyond the framework of the grand music festival celebrating National Day September 2, Moments of Wonder organized by Vingroup Corporation has become a symbol of Vietnam's cultural aspirations in the new era.

Soobin, the perfect hyphen in 8Wonder

This "all-round talent" of V-pop has shown his unlimited "destructive power" when bringing rich performances, both imbued with Vietnamese culture such as Nguoi Viet , Ngải yển man thuy , Trống cốm, and then breaking out and exploding with hot EDM melodies on stage such as Dancing in the dark , Tháng Năm , BlackJack, SuperStar .

Soobin sings, dances, and plays musical instruments (mono bau, piano) passionately and shows his ability to transform flexibly, no less than any international star.

In a quick chat after the 8Wonder concert, Soobin told Tuoi Tre Online that every time he returns to perform in Hanoi - where he was born and raised, he has a very different feeling: close, warm and full of energy.

Usually, before or after a performance, the artist will go home and have dinner with his family. For him, that is a way to recharge his batteries and maintain his enthusiasm for his artistic journey.

Compared to other times, this time is more special because Soobin is the artist with the most performances among the Vietnamese artists participating in the international superstar music festival. He also took on a performance that is a bridge, converging the best and most classy things of current Vietnamese music to introduce to international friends.

Looking to combine folk and contemporary music

* The Moments of Wonder concert celebrating National Day September 2nd with the participation of international stars has just ended with a passionate audience of more than 50,000 people. How do you feel, Soobin?

- This is a great honor for Soonin.

As a young artist born and raised in peacetime, Soobin cherishes the opportunity to stand on a special stage like 8Wonder, right on the heritage land of Co Loa - a name associated with the depth of national culture and history.

Being selected to perform at the music festival alongside international artists makes me feel very proud. It is not only a musical exchange but also an opportunity to contribute to introducing Vietnamese art to friends around the world.

* Soobin just had an explosive performance set for 8Wonder, in which the first half was dedicated to honoring and praising Vietnamese culture. Do you think of a big project in the near future that will renew that treasure?

- Actually, this has always been in Soobin's mind from a very early age, almost throughout his career. Although my music may be more modern now, the further I go, the more I want to find my roots.

Currently, Soobin is spending time researching and finding ways to combine traditional music with contemporary elements. Surely in the future there will be many special, well-prepared projects such as Muc Ha Vo Nhan for example.

For me, it is not only a step in art, but also a way to extend tradition in the way of my generation.

My close brothers like Touliver and SlimV always cherish the desire to bring traditional Vietnamese materials closer to the world.

* Watching the All-Rounder concert and the performance at 8Wonder, it's clear that Soobin's ambition doesn't stop there. What are you still cherishing? What kind of artist do you want to become?

- Soobin wants to become a true "all-rounder" artist. Not only standing on stage, but also being able to compose, shape concepts, and even produce. Ultimately, the ultimate goal is still to conquer the audience - that is also the greatest happiness for me in my career.

* At 8Wonder, Soobin is like a perfect bridge between Vietnamese music and international music. What do you think about current Vietnamese music?

- Vietnamese music is very vibrant and diverse right now. Soobin is happy to be living in a time where anyone can tell their story through music - as long as you are sincere about it.
