Number of traffic accidents during Lunar New Year decreased compared to the same period

Specifically, according to statistics from Cho Ray Hospital, in 7 days from February 8 (29th lunar month) to February 14, 2024 (5th day of Tet), the hospital received 1,870 emergency cases, an average of 267 cases per day. Of which, there were 723 surgical cases.

Among the emergency cases, there were 362 cases of traffic accidents, 84 cases of domestic accidents, 33 cases of injuries and 14 cases of poisoning.

From February 2 (23rd lunar month) to February 14 (5th day of Tet), the hospital received 635 traffic accident cases, including 2 cases recorded as having consumed alcohol.

During the 7-day holiday, Cho Ray Hospital received 1,870 emergency cases.

Also during the 7-day Tet holiday, doctors performed 270 emergency surgeries, an average of 39 surgeries per day. The highest number of surgeries was in the Orthopedic Department with 63 surgeries, followed by the Neurology Department with 57 surgeries, the Digestive Surgery Department (56 surgeries), the ENT Department (28 surgeries)...

Regarding inpatient treatment, during the 7-day break, the hospital recorded 1,634 hospitalizations, an average of 233 cases/day. As of 7:00 a.m. on February 15, the cumulative number of patients being treated at the hospital was 1,404 cases.

More than 6,000 drivers violated alcohol concentration on the 4th day of Tet

During the 7-day Tet holiday, the hospital used 597 units of blood (350 ml units) to transfuse to patients. As of the morning of February 15, the amount of blood stored at the hospital was 4,230 units.

Compared to the Lunar New Year holiday (January 20 - January 26, 2023), the number of emergency admissions at Cho Ray Hospital decreased by 20 cases, the number of patients transferred for emergency surgery increased by 3 cases, the number of traffic accidents decreased by 15.6%, the number of domestic accidents decreased by 7.7%, the number of injuries decreased by 29.8%, the number of poisoning cases decreased by 22.2%. The total number of emergency surgeries increased by 5.1%.
