Egyptian media highly appreciates President Luong Cuong's visit

Egyptian media assessed that President Luong Cuong's visit opened up many opportunities for economic, trade, green energy and educational cooperation between Vietnam and Egypt.

According to a VNA correspondent in Cairo, on August 5, Egyptian media in particular and the Middle East-North Africa region in general published many positive articles assessing and highlighting the prospects for cooperation in various fields between Vietnam and Egypt during the state visit of President Luong Cuong to the Arab Republic of Egypt from August 3-6.

Regarding economic and trade cooperation, Egyptian daily Youm7 said that this is an important and historic visit, reflecting a strong political commitment and creating new momentum in bilateral relations, especially in economics, trade and investment between Egypt and Vietnam.

Youm7 newspaper emphasized that both countries are committed to promoting bilateral trade cooperation and striving to increase two-way trade turnover to 1 billion USD in the coming time, focusing on key products such as seafood, agricultural products and garments (from Vietnam) as well as chemicals, fertilizers and pharmaceuticals (from Egypt).

Investment cooperation between Vietnam and Egypt is assessed to have great potential, especially in industries such as Halal food processing, textiles, clean energy and logistics.

Meanwhile, Al-Ahram newspaper, which has the largest readership in Egypt, assessed that President Luong Cuong's state visit to Egypt marked a substantial step forward in realizing the agreements signed between the two sides.

Meanwhile, Egyptian newspapers Al-Gomhuria and El-Balad commented that the two countries have great potential to promote cooperation in tourism and people-to-people exchange.

Vietnam is a new and attractive destination for tourists from the Middle East and North Africa in general and Egypt in particular.

Meanwhile, Egypt with wonders such as the Giza Pyramids, the Nile River, the Grand Egyptian Museum... is very suitable to promote to Vietnamese tourists.

Regarding energy cooperation and green transition, Egyptian media commented that the two countries also have great potential to enhance cooperation in the field of renewable energy.

Vietnam has strengths in solar and wind energy, while Egypt is pushing ahead with its green hydrogen and wind power development program in the Red Sea region.

Regional media consider this a strategic direction that can become a new pillar of cooperation, especially when the two countries pursue sustainable development and emission reduction policies.

Egyptian and Middle East-North African media also highly appreciated the two sides' commitment to expanding student exchanges, academic research, and teaching Arabic-Vietnamese at each other's universities.

Promoting cultural diplomacy and connections between scholars of the two countries is a way to enhance mutual understanding and develop sustainable relations.

Regarding defense-security and parliamentary cooperation, Egypt's Daily News Egypt and El-Watan newspapers said that the two countries are aiming to promote cooperation in defense, defense industry, maritime security and counter-terrorism.

In addition, the prospect of promoting parliamentary diplomacy and delegation exchanges between the two countries' parliaments is also considered by Egyptian media to be a factor helping to increase political trust between the two sides.

Egyptian media also commented that Vietnam and Egypt have similar stances at forums such as the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, and G77+China.

Egyptian newspapers also said that Vietnam and Egypt should take advantage of their role as strategic gateways, with Vietnam being the bridge to ASEAN, while Egypt is the gateway to Africa and the Arab world.

According to MENA news agency (Egypt), the two countries are aiming to strengthen cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, investment, green energy, Halal food, finance and banking.

Egypt and Vietnam also hope to soon start negotiations and sign a bilateral Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

Egypt is strategically located as a bridge between Southeast Asia and Africa, while Vietnam is the gateway to the ASEAN market.

President Luong Cuong's visit to Egypt opens up opportunities for the two countries to promote their strategic positions in regional connectivity and promote links between ASEAN and the Middle East-North Africa region.

In general, Egyptian and Middle East-North African media all assessed President Luong Cuong's visit to Egypt as an important turning point, opening up prospects for comprehensive and substantive cooperation between the two countries in many fields such as economy, trade, tourism, people-to-people exchange, green energy, education, scientific research, defense, security, multilateral cooperation, innovation, peacekeeping, etc.

The visit not only reaffirms the political commitment between Vietnam and Egypt, but also helps establish specific and long-term cooperation mechanisms between the two sides./.
