(Chinhphu.vn) - The Party Committee of the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel) sets a target of double-digit growth each year in the period of 2025 - 2030, mastering national strategic technologies and exporting "Make in Vietnam" technology products. In terms of military, Viettel will be the main force in researching and producing advanced and modern weapons and equipment for the Army.

On August 4, 5, and 6, Viettel held the 11th Party Congress of the Group, term 2025 - 2030. Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense , representatives of functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense and the General Department of Politics attended the congress.

With a total of 268 delegates convened, representing nearly 10,000 party members from 641 grassroots party organizations.

As a special economic group that does not establish a Board of Members, all activities to implement the Group's key and strategic tasks are led by the Party Committee.

Pioneer in digital transformation, high-tech defense industry

In the 2021-2025 term, the Party Committee of the Group has led the unit to excellently complete its tasks, affirming its core and pioneering role in the state-owned enterprise sector, which is a convincing proof of the correct and creative application of the socialist-oriented market economic development path, contributing to the good performance of the functions of a combat army, a working army and a production army.

Viettel maintained stable growth, reaching the finish line at a double-digit rate at the end of its term. Accumulated in the period of 2021 - 2025, consolidated revenue reached 888.2 trillion VND, an increase of nearly 25% compared to the period of 2016 - 2020. Viettel is always the leading enterprise in the country, paying the highest corporate income tax, and having the number 1 brand value in Vietnam according to the assessment of prestigious international organizations.

The field of national defense and security has achieved remarkable achievements. Viettel has mastered many strategic weapons according to project A1, completed research and production of more than 50 types of high-tech weapons and equipment, which have been put into service to serve well the training and combat readiness tasks of many units under the Ministry of National Defense.

At the Party Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term, Viettel displayed a number of strategic military equipment products such as: "Truong Son" missile complex, S125-VT air defense missile complex, fire control radar, reconnaissance and jamming complex against unmanned aerial vehicles, vertical take-off and landing medium-altitude reconnaissance UAV, tactical combat UAV...

Breakthrough in science and technology development, turning Vietnam into an international exporter of high-tech products

With the theme "Building a clean and strong Party organization, a comprehensively strong Group; pioneering in mastering national strategic technology and industry, promoting international cooperation; focusing on research and production of advanced and modern weapons and technical equipment", this Congress focused on discussing and building challenging goals for the 2025 - 2030 period.

Accordingly, Viettel will be the pioneer in maintaining a high average growth rate (double digits) in line with the Party and State's determination to develop the economy and society. At the same time, it will promote a global business strategy, making Vietnam a country that imports and exports high technology.

International revenue growth target in telecommunications and digital services is from 35% to 40%; growth target for high-tech industrial products and digital technology industry is from 25% to 30%.

In particular, the Group proactively researches and develops 9 out of 11 national strategic technologies including AI, digital twins, virtual reality/augmented reality, cloud computing and quantum computing, big data, blockchain, 5G/6G, robotics and automation, semiconductor chips, energy and advanced materials, cybersecurity, and aerospace.

During the 2025-2030 period, Viettel will also play the role of a leading nucleus in the high-tech defense industrial complex; proactively advising and proposing new types of technical weapons and equipment to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense.

According to Lieutenant General Tao Duc Thang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group, the goals we set out in this Congress deeply demonstrate Viettel's will and determination in the overall development process of the whole country. Although it is not easy, Viettel has every reason to be optimistic because the solutions have been clearly and specifically outlined.

At the Congress, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of National Defense, directed that in order to fulfill the goals and tasks in the coming term, the Group must constantly innovate, create, improve production and business efficiency, and carry out military and defense tasks.

Pioneer in mastering national strategic technology and industry; main focus on researching, producing and supplying advanced and modern weapons and equipment for the Army.

Actively invest in facilities, develop new and modern products and services to meet the requirements of the 4.0 Revolution. Implement corporate culture well, maintain reputation and brand, gain customer trust; strengthen cooperation, expand market.
