Tighten management of fertilizers and pesticides in Phu Giao district

The provincial Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection has just coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Phu Giao district to inspect the compliance with the law in the business of fertilizers and plant protection products of organizations and individuals in the district. Accordingly, the delegation worked with 3 fertilizer and plant protection product businesses in An Linh commune and Phuoc Vinh town. These are licensed establishments, small and medium-sized, serving the agricultural production needs of local people.

The inspection results showed that most of the establishments basically complied with the law in their business activities. Fertilizer and pesticide products all had clear packaging and labels, were within their expiry dates, had valid origins, and valid invoices and documents. However, the delegation also discovered some shortcomings and deficiencies such as: Certificates of eligibility for pesticide trading had expired; price listings were not complete; product display areas did not ensure safe distances according to regulations; product tracking books were not fully updated; product preservation was not in accordance with regulations.

The inspection team has drawn up a working record, reminded and requested the establishments with shortcomings to promptly correct them, and committed to strictly implementing the provisions of the law on trading agricultural materials, especially for conditional items such as fertilizers and pesticides.
