All types of bread, including white bread, contain nutrients that can boost your diet. Along with being high in iron, fiber, and B vitamins, bread also contains surprisingly high amounts of protein, calcium, B1, manganese, and zinc. White bread is also a significant source of folate. Wholemeal or dark bread is especially healthier.

However, what will happen to your body if you eat bread every day?

People with auto-brewery syndrome may have problems

Dr. Mickey Mehta, a leading holistic health expert in India, and also an author and speaker at Harvard Medical School, (USA), advises: Be careful when eating bread!

In a recent social media post, Dr. Mehta wrote: Can’t live without a loaf of bread every morning? Fine, but at least try to cut back, especially if you have auto-alcohol syndrome.

Bread can contribute to auto-alcohol syndrome when certain strains of yeast (such as Saccharomyces cerevisiae or Candida) overgrow in the gut. When someone with the syndrome eats carbohydrate-rich foods, such as bread, pasta, or sugary snacks, the yeast ferments those carbohydrates into ethanol, leading to symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, and even alcohol poisoning without ever consuming alcohol.

The unpredictable harm of wearing tight clothes

Auto-alcohol syndrome is often caused by factors such as antibiotic abuse (which disrupts the gut flora), diabetes, liver problems, or a weakened immune system. People with the condition should limit their intake of high-fructose corn syrup, white bread, pasta, white rice, white flour, potato chips, crackers, sugary drinks, and fruit juice.

Bread can cause blood sugar spikes

Although bread provides many nutrients, it is still a carbohydrate food that can spike blood sugar levels, according to doctors at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health (USA). The less fiber the bread has, such as white bread, the higher the glycemic index.

However, if you eat bread with healthy fats like peanut butter or a few slices of avocado or lean protein like chicken, lean meat, eggs, you don't have to worry about blood sugar spikes. These foods help slow down digestion and stabilize blood sugar, which is especially important for people with diabetes, according to the health news site Eating Well.
