What's on the 8Wonder stage: 50,000 people amidst legends, Vietnamese and international quintessence

The 8Wonder: Moments of Wonder music festival is expected to welcome about 50,000 spectators at the National Exhibition and Fair Center - Dong Anh commune, Hanoi - on August 23.

Responding to Tuoi Tre Online , director Blonde Nguyen proudly talked about ideas specifically for the stage. This year, she revealed the performances of Soobin, Hoa Minzy and international stars with strict requirements on equipment, stage design and each artist's own identity.

8Wonder: Legend, Vietnamese and international quintessence

According to Blonde Nguyen, the 8Wonder: Moments of Wonder stage is a fusion of Vietnamese identity and multinational music . On the same stage in Vietnam, headliners from major international music festivals will converge, along with prominent live singers in Vietnam.

The stage and performances will cross the intersection of past, present and future, highlighting the cultural quintessence of Vietnam.

The entire visual and music will go through three directions: legend, the quintessence of three regions' culture and the explosion, reaching international level. Soobin will end up with two different musical styles: one part is proud of Vietnamese quintessence and the other part is very international.

Hoa Minzy brings folk and contemporary features with Non Quai Thao, Quan Ho, Lien Anh Lien Chi and Lim Festival in the performance Bac Bling. Coming to 8Wonder, this will be the most liberal, youthful and international version of Bac Bling ever, with guest performers that promise to be very impressive.

Director Blonde Nguyen hopes that the audience will come early to enjoy the opening performances starting at 6pm of 8Wonder because the organizers have cleverly inserted many interesting "secrets" in this part.

8Wonder: Moments of Wonder will also be very unique because there will be no MC to lead the performances. The entire program will be led by the stage, melody, emotions and each word, image on stage with a consistent storyline. The stage has a contemporary artistic spirit, with hand-drawn visual led.

Held on the occasion of the whole country celebrating National Day on September 2, the spirit of patriotism and national pride is expressed throughout the program. The opening performance with traditional musical instruments leads the audience's emotions, aiming to bring them into the legendary sound with the cultural quintessence of the three regions.

Blonde Nguyen said: "Currently, every concert and every performance will carry the national spirit. The difference at 8Wonder is that there is a resonance between our nation, Vietnamese culture and contemporary, globalized nature according to international standards. This fusion is more special. The audience will recognize the effort in every stroke when wanting to convey Vietnamese culture and Vietnamese artists."

Bringing world festival culture to Vietnam

In addition, for international visitors, to help them understand the cultural messages, director Blonde Nguyen believes that cultural values are easy to perceive through images, and the organizers have made Vietnamese and English subtitles to remove language barriers.

At major festivals around the world, the organizers usually spend about 20-30 minutes setting up the stage between artists' sets. The audience there is already familiar with this, but in Vietnam, that waiting time is still quite strange to the audience.

But the 8Wonder organizers have prepared "shows" to lead the emotions, for example: playing familiar songs for everyone to dance and immerse themselves in the music, the "share your love" part when letting the audience freely express their feelings...

Director Blonde Nguyen is confident in the sound and lighting design of the stage, especially the heavy-duty lighting equipment, which must be structurally calculated to ensure efficiency and safety. Small light columns are scattered throughout the space to ensure the audience's vision and experience.

"The audience experience will definitely be of international standard," the director affirmed.

International artists, international standards required

This year, 8Wonder welcomed a large number of international artists: DJ Snake, J Balvin, The Kid LAROI and DPR IAN. Each had different requests.

J Balvin brought a stage with a very special arrangement. The Kid LAROI and his crew brought all the international imported equipment to Vietnam to ensure the system was as they wanted. As for DJ Snake, his set had to bring the effect of an international festival, so the requirements were also very high.

To arrange rehearsal time for international artists, the organizing committee spent a whole month receiving requests, discussing and dividing the schedule accordingly.
