Samsung officially launched Galaxy Buds 3 FE for fans

Samsung has finally officially introduced the Galaxy Buds 3 FE, headphones that promise to bring good value to consumers.

Despite the “FE” (Fan Edition) name often associated with a lower price and some cutbacks in features, the Galaxy Buds 3 FE stand out from the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro in some key aspects, especially battery life.

According to Samsung, the $150 Galaxy Buds 3 FE offer up to 6 hours of battery life with active noise cancellation (ANC) on and 8.5 hours with ANC off. That compares to the $190 Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, which offer 6 hours and 7 hours, respectively. While battery life isn't the best in the wireless earbuds segment, the Galaxy Buds 3 FE still compete well with similarly priced products from OnePlus.

Another plus point of the Galaxy Buds 3 FE is that it is 5 grams lighter than the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. Although this difference is not big, it gives the FE version a small advantage. Samsung has succeeded in reducing the weight while still upgrading the battery life, a remarkable achievement.

The Galaxy Buds 3 FE has a matte design instead of a glossy one like the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. However, this product does not have LED lights on the body of the headset, making it a minus point for some users.

Design aside, the Galaxy Buds 3 FE also come with real-time AI translation (Samsung phones only) and Gemini compatibility, which lets users activate their voice assistant without unlocking their phone. While the AI features may not be a deciding factor for many, they're still a notable plus.

Ultimately, sound quality is the most important factor. The Galaxy Buds 3 FE use a single-driver design, while the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro have two drivers.

While it's hard to judge this difference without direct testing, it's safe to assume that the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro will deliver better sound fidelity and dynamic range. However, given the reasonable price, the Galaxy Buds 3 FE are still a compelling option for those looking to save money without sacrificing too much quality.
