The largest "fire dragon" ever seen emerged from the monster black hole

(NLDO) - From a place 7.5 billion light years away from Earth, a pair of "cosmic fire dragons" 140 times longer than the diameter of the Milky Way emerged from a black hole.

From a place 7.5 billion light years away from Earth, the central black hole of a large galaxy has launched two jets like two giant fire dragons flying through the universe, the most terrible jets that astronomers have ever recorded.

According to Space.com, the pair of "fire dragons" is 23 million light years long, equivalent to 140 galaxies containing the Milky Way Earth placed side by side.

It is a pair of symmetrical jets, ejected perpendicular to the galactic plane, from either side of the black hole.

According to astronomer Martin Hardcastle from the University of Hertfordshire (UK), these two jets release billions of times more energy than our Sun every second.

So the monster black hole that created it is also one of the most powerful black holes known to mankind, with matter falling into the black hole at a very fast rate, thus releasing a very powerful jet.

Because light takes billions of years to reach Earth, the black hole we see is actually an object from the past, when the universe was only about half its modern age.

It was a time when the world was much more violent than it is today, with many factors that could disrupt these jet streams. They had to be very strong to fight against those forces to stretch 23 million light years in intergalactic space.

The study was recently published in the scientific journal Nature.
