Georgina revealed the good news through a post on her personal Instagram, with a picture of a giant diamond engagement ring.

The superstar couple have been together for 9 years, but Ronaldo has been hesitant to propose before.

The former Spanish model captioned the photo of her hand, with the engagement ring on her ring finger, placed on CR7's hand: " Yes. For this life and for the rest of my life."

Late last year, while attending the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, Ronaldo caused a stir with his statement:

"It's an honor to win this title. My eldest son is here, my wife Georgina is here."

Sharing the reason why he has not married his girlfriend who is 9 years younger than him in a previous interview, Ronaldo expressed:

"I always say to Georgina 'there will come a time when we find common ground'. Like everything in our lives and she understands what I'm talking about.

It could be a year, six months, or maybe just a month. I'm 1000 percent sure it will happen..."

Ronaldo and Georgina have two daughters, Alana (7 years old) and Bella (3 years old). She also raises the Portuguese striker's three other children: Cristiano Jr (15 years old), Mateo (8 years old) and Eva Maria (8 years old).
