Ronaldo made a fortune when Al Nassr was sold

Cristiano Ronaldo is set to benefit financially as Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) sells its stake in Al Nassr and three other top clubs in the Saudi Pro League.

Ronaldo owns 15% of Al Nassr shares.

Currently, PIF holds 75% of the shares of the four biggest teams in the league, including Al Nassr, Al Hilal, Al Ittihad and Al Ahli, while the remaining 25% belongs to the country's Sports Ministry. If the share sale is successful, Ronaldo will directly benefit from holding 15% of Al Nassr shares according to the contract extension in June.

The 40-year-old superstar signed what is considered the most valuable contract in football history, bringing in at least £492 million within 24 months, along with ownership of the club. This means that, in addition to the huge salary, CR7 can also pocket millions more pounds if Al Nassr changes ownership.

According to Saudi media, the sale of the four top clubs is part of a privatization strategy announced by the authorities last year. The plan also includes the transfer of the 25% stake held by the Ministry of Sports.

Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in early 2023 after leaving MU. He scored 99 goals in 112 matches, contributing greatly to bringing the Al Nassr brand to the world. However, CR7 has not had any official titles with the team.
