Ronaldo's bad luck, Al Nassr barely escapes defeat after shocking developments

Al Nassr traveled to visit Al Riyadh in the penultimate round of the Saudi Arabian Premier League. Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates dominated the game, creating 24 shots and controlling the ball 75%, but had to wait until extra time to earn a point.

The visitors took the lead through Otavio in the 15th minute. However, Al Riyadh returned to lead 2-1 after goals from Andre Gray in the 26th minute and Mohammed Al-Aqel in the 45+1 minute.

Notably, the match could have gone in a different direction if Cristiano Ronaldo had not missed the opportunity to face the goalkeeper with an unsuccessful lob in the 24th minute. Immediately after that, Andre Gray scored the equalizer 1-1 in a similar situation.

In the lead, Al Nassr had to play with one less man from the 63rd minute. Center back Aymeric Laporte caused a shock when he grabbed and punched his opponent and received a red card after VAR intervention.

Despite playing with one less man, Al Nassr still created a series of chances but Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane were strangely unlucky. The visitors had to wait until the 90+7 minute to equalize, after the Al Riyadh goalkeeper made a mistake and Meshari Al Nemer easily put the ball into an empty net.

With this result, Al Riyadh has hope of staying in the league with 32 points and 1 point more than the relegation position of Al Tai. On the other hand, Al Nassr has quickly kept the runner-up position and has 79 points before meeting Al Ittihad in the final round.
