The Vietnamese-Korean co-production film Mang Me Di Bo just had its official premiere and press conference in Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of July 29.
On the Vietnamese side, the main actors including Hong Dao, Tuan Tran, Juliet Bao Ngoc... were present and interacted with press and media agencies. Meanwhile, on the Korean side, director Mo Hong-jin and actor Jung Il-woo also participated in promotional activities.
The appearance of Jung Il-woo, the actor affectionately nicknamed "Vietnamese son-in-law" by the audience, received much attention.
In Mang Me Di Bo , Jung Il-woo plays Jeong-min - a gentle, kind and loving Korean husband who loves his wife very much. Paired with Juliet Bao Ngoc, his character brings sweet and profound moments, contributing to recreating the most beautiful time in the life of the character Le Thi Hanh.
The actor said that in the film, his character is Korean and the Vietnamese dialogue is also quite limited.
However, in a scene with co-star Bao Ngoc, he asked the director to add a line in Vietnamese, "From now on, I will like you." This placement makes the interaction between the two natural and intimate.
As someone who has scenes with Jung Il-woo, Bao Ngoc revealed that while preparing for the role, she spent a lot of time learning Korean because most of her lines in the film are in this language.
At the premiere, the two main characters Hong Dao and Tuan Tran received many questions because their roles are central to the story.
According to Tuan Tran, Hoan in Mang me di bo is completely different from the previous roles he has participated in. The character Hoan has to face many difficulties, from family circumstances to deep wounds in his heart.
"The character Hoan is more mature than my previous roles," said Tuan Tran.
Actress Hong Dao said that making the audience laugh or cry is equally difficult. With this role, her biggest pressure is how to fully express the scenes with her eyes to express her inner struggles.
At the press conference, director Mo Hong-jin said that from the script writing stage, he always kept in mind to build a film close to the personality of Vietnamese people: "No matter how difficult the circumstances, they always choose to stay together."
The movie Mang me di bo is labeled K (the movie is allowed to be distributed to audiences under 13 years old with the condition that they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian).
The film will have early screenings from 6pm on July 30 and 31 before officially opening in theaters nationwide from August 1.
