The Ministry of Construction has just issued a decision on promulgating administrative procedures that have been amended, supplemented, and abolished in the field of maritime and inland waterways, and vehicle inspection according to regulations on decentralization, delegation, and determination of authority of local authorities at 2 levels under the management of the Ministry. Accordingly, previous announcements on administrative procedures in the field of maritime and inland waterways, and vehicle inspection related to them will expire from the effective date of this decision. Port and wharf owners who need to extend the operation of inland ports and wharfs must submit their applications to the competent authority. In particular, the Ministry of Construction will extend the extension for inland waterway ports that receive foreign watercraft. In addition, the Vietnam Maritime Administration and Vietnam Waterways also has authority over inland waterway ports in the seaport waters connected to national inland waterways, except for cases under the authority of the Ministry of Construction and other cases decided by the Ministry of Construction.
The Department of Construction has the authority to extend the term for inland waterway ports on local inland waterways, specialized inland waterways connecting to local inland waterways, inland waterway ports in seaport waters connecting to local inland waterways in provinces and centrally run cities, except for cases under the authority of the Ministry of Construction and other cases decided by the Ministry of Construction. The People's Committees at the commune level extend the term for inland waterway wharves and cross-river passenger wharves, inland waterway wharves serving the construction of main works in provinces and centrally run cities.
